Dusted off old character

Well I dusted off my old range toon and tried to turn into the latest inquisitive build that everyone is raving about. After banging my head on the wall
trying to make it adjust I gave up and now have him waiting in the tr line. What I would like is a link to the latest greatest Inquisitive build (I'm just Lazy as heck when it
comes to builds) if anyone could please point me in the right direction.

Thanks to the forum for all it's help.

thats probably close enough to serve your purposes at least for direction.

For general ideas and gameplay loop beyond that:
41 points inquisitor, t5 inquisitor, then grab [a trance to stat] and [stat to hit and stat to damage] of that same stat. Harper Agent is easy for both in intelligence (stat to hit, stat to damage, stat to trance) artificer levels are easy for intelligence to damage spell that lets you save some points so you only need stat to hit and stat to trance from harper.

Then you can choose what you want to do with your inquisitor. You could go for dark hunter and deepwood stalker as in the build I linked above, or you could put your points in battle engineer for extra AoE ranged attack (shattered shot thingie), action boosts and Agility Engine for net total of 15% doubleshot and 3 imbue dice and some other juicy goodies... Or whatever else you want to do. Make sure to max out active attacks for that juicy 50% extra damage since they hit in aoe and multiple times (3 times repeater, 2 times doubleshot style - I recommend doubleshot because it feels nicer).

The build linked above will work perfectly fine regardless.

General gameplay loop:
Hit a pack of monsters with your aoe ranged attacks before they split up. Pack go splat. If something looks scary or doesn't go splat, change to reverse and keep shooting. If it gets to you, press improved uncanny dodge and keep shooting. Press your active attacks on cooldown, they're the bread and butter of the new inquisitor. Press No Holds Barred (and reapers strike, if playing on reaper) -before- you engage a pack, not after they're already onto you.

If it lives after AoE attacks, panic! But thankfully you're in epic levels now and you can follow it up with pluck of a string and hunt's end, and it go splat.

Thank you for the link. I've been using know the angles forever, just never heard it called a trance.

That’s not the build everyone is raving about. But it’s likely an exceptionally good build anyway. The “rave” build is 14 pali, 4 arti, 2 dragon lord. Inquisitive, battle engineer, knight of the Chalice. Very likely 18 racial in Eladrin. Enough points in Feydark Illusionist to get the Charisma to hit and damage enhancements. Shiradi, Fate Singer and Shadow Dancer EDs. It performs far better with a pile of past lives and needs exceptionally good gear to solo R10.

The build given above is probably more accessible.

That sounds like a lot of work. I'm just trying to find a top tier build for a casual that fits what Rusty-helmet is talking about. Where is the build that I can spin up as a casual and solo R10's?

14/4/2 paladin/artificer/dragonlord.

Even crappy gear and low past lives will get you there. Seems most of Orien is moving to it.

All of these builds take a lot of work and ultimately time dedicated to building the past lives and gear necessary. And once you have done all that, and post a youtube video, three people in particular are going to scream at SSG until they nerf it.

For low reaper sure. You will need to group for higher skulls.
Just for witnesses or to scale it to make it harder? I suppose with few past lives and crummy gear sure. But most builds with neither good gear nor past lives can handle above R1 on their own without good player skill.

But the build is very friendly to poor gear and few past lives. The more you have the better is scales.

Hey Rusty, don't you need pally lives on that tertiary toon?

Technically yes. But I hope greatly that it will be nerfed before I finish my next 4 lives I'm doing before I evaluate what is next. I need scourge lives after I finish the last half orc life. And taking 2 epic past lives each time slows it down a little (well the heroic part of it is the slowest for sure.).
