Dwarven Axe with THF or SWF line?

Okay, I need some help because I'm starting to question my decisions. I recently rolled up a Duergar Artificer using Rune Arm and Dwarven Axe. Which of the weapon fighting lines should I be using when leveling vs cap, etc. Right now I went with THF to start, but wasn't sure if that should have been SWF instead. Can someone explain like I'm five as to what option would be better to use?

Swf fighting line and then take two handed specialty at lvl 31. If I remember correctly, taking any of the two handed fighting feats will lock you out of two handed specialty so you'll want to feat swap to swf sooner than later. I know nothing about artificer but that's how I do it when I play swf melee.

I prefer to take SWF for heroic leveling - then take THF Specialty at level 31 - for a few reasons:
  • It has no stat pre-req unlike THF (STR 15/17) so your Artificer is less MAD: i.e., max INT, enough DEX to take Precision (and possibly Whirlwind Attack chain), rest into CON
  • You need the heroic SWF feat to unlock Offhand Versatility + Perfect SWF; but you don't need THF feat to take Perfect THF
  • You have the option of switching to SWF warhammers for leveling if you prefer, since Improved Critical is the only weapon-specific feat you need. Nightforge Hammer is the only warhammer with x4 crit multiplier and is easy to farm from a F2P quest. Whereas "THF + warhammer" accomplishes nothing.
