Earth Elementals using Earthgrab without LOS?

Had a close call on HC at the end of Revelations in Ataraxias when the named Earth Elemental at the end aggroed and even though he was inside the cavern and I was outside it with no LOS, I kept getting Earthgrabbed plus acid dmg as it was a champion. I was still getting Earthgrabbed underwater as well, although it wasnt paralysing me, I just got the champion's acid DOT on me.

Surely this is not right? I don't remember that mob managing to do this before?

Lots of mob abilities don’t require line of sight some reason. Mobs can still use flame strike and cometfall at obscene distances and through walls, despite them claiming they fixed it

This feels alot like a physics check issue. During the big physics check adjustmnet (years before the more recent big proc adjustment) alot of the physics checks were changed to procs, and more seem to have been eliminated. If you were in LOS when the wind up on the ability began, you will be deemed in LOS when the ability goes off.

This compromises the ability to "play your AC" by getting out of the way of effects and attacks when you see the tell. There are some examples of where this can still be done, but it was severely eroded after those changes.

This causes a dichotomy of having to rely on character stats more and player ability less. Most don't notice it until they get into an HC server situation, as their characters on regular servers are twinked out, PLed out, buffed out, and running R1 zerg style for leveling efficiency. On HC or in any non twinked and unfarmed starter character situation, this becomes very noticable.

They need to alocate some time to learn what other games are doing to prevent this causing lag, because this is the one game where its a choice between accurate physics checks and lag reduction. It's not game age alone, as there are both older and newer games which do not experience these issues, even in 80v80v80 3 team fights. There's alot of head room that could be explored there. Vague explanations laden with buzzwords of yesteryear like "spaghetti code" are not acceptable. There should be a specific discussion on this, through to actual resolution.
