Eladrin race not up to snuff..

So i just learned today that their 37% dodge 5x per rest ignores dodge cap. This race is OP as hell. You can hit 95% dodge with an inquisitive even if your dodge cap is 8.

Edit: Sorry, even if your dodge cap is 5. Apparently it gives 40% dodge

Forced to run 3 lives of this hot garbage race in order to maintain Racial Completionist...

In my opinion, The racial tree and core abilities are aabsolute trash, and easily the worst out of any race for melee/caster/ whatever..

anybody else feel the same?
Na... WF have ya beat without even breaking a sweat.

I, as a new player, just use fey step to safely skip traps and it feels awesome. My problem with fey step is I conserve the point so much that I almost never use them for non-trap situations. Even a 2 minute charge refresh would be better imo.

The worst? no.

Another race that the players didn't asked and that is only good for few very specific builds? yes. And still is not better than Horc, Tiefling or Aasimar in their respective roles.

I'm on meds.. Leaf me alone!
when you fight a boss, you do not necessarily need to close gap or fast move away
The end fight of black and blue would like to have a word with you.
(TLDR: If you are a first lifer and/or weak build you cannot facetank that boss without tons of acid rez, so you have to kite - either that or I am doing it wrong)

The only problem with Eladrin is the lack of masculine features. 😤
And the horrible dance animations that desperately need a brush-up (one of them doesn't even loop properly)

As for the OP, I'm really enjoying eladrin on a low-life toon thanks to its front-loaded value. You get one of the best clickies in the game for just ~6 AP. I do see how it may not be as enticing for racial completionists, but I personally despise races that force you to spend 10+ points on useless crap before giving you anything useful.

Still, calling Eladrin the worst when something like Half-Elf exists is not very accurate...

With a +2 Dex, and a toggle to select a different +1 ability of your choice for casting or strength for melee. With elven immunities, it seems pretty strong to me playing it so far. Maybe that race doesn't fit your desired play style, but that doesn't mean it a crap race.

Half-elf is underrated. Not even close to the worst race, just people using the wrong tool for the wrong job if they think half-elf is bad.

That said, Eladrin is also a great, for a fair number of purposes the best race. It is good for completionists (ranged, doubleshot + leap + elven nature for divines) it is good for midtier racial characters (frontloaded nature of the leaps) and it offers excellent albeit limited spike damage or spike defenses, which you can swap on the fly. I swap between autumn and spring personally quite often, depending on what I need from my Leap.

Half-elf's biggest strength is in dilettante feats, the problem is, the enhancement tree is outdated and does not support it well. The only really valuable points are the "Special Abilities" but they vary widely in terms of efficiency, not all dilletantes are properly supported, and many are overshadowed by the recent universal trees or other races.

Example: ranged dilettante Conjure Arrows for 6 AP vs 2 AP from Horizon Walker.
