Eladrin race

Since yesterday it was possible to select the race. I have seen there is a lot of ranged in the tree and +2 to Dex so any shooter or Ranger can make sense as only the Iconic is more a mage.
The Race looks a bit like Star Trek Romulans if you take one without hair ?

I agree they look weird to me. Not like elves typically are depicted. It’s also odd you can’t change lip color.

They could use more fine nose and lip options they would look a lot more elf like.

Going to add this here (slight derail, sorrry)

I hadn't seen this specifically spelled out anywhere.
But it seems that Eladrin are a subrace of Elf.
Meaning same past life feats, and counts as Elf.
So no need to do three Eladrin races for past life, if you already have three Elf (or Wood Elf).
(Please correct me if I am wrong or missing something.)

(Everyone else probably knew this already but for me it was a pleasant surprise.)
You're wrong.

I just noticed that I have the Racial Completioinist feat still even though I dont' yet have any Eladrin past lives.

It's been mentioned by others there's likely a grace period, assumed to be between pre-sales and the official expansion launch to get knock out those lives before they remove it for not having them.

Yeah it'd be a kick in the teeth to be basically required to get them early.. I'm still knocking out those eladrin lives on my completionist though, then I can get back to a proper build on that one.

So far I'm still trying to figure out the most effective synergies of season & class (not worrying about multiclasses yet) & for spring I'm thinking swashbuckler or CHA based dragonlord is a very solid fit, summer has those +crit confirmation & fort ones which aren't all that great before you get to the juicy +str & damage so they're kind of an AP tax, autumn admittedly seems really well geared towards ninja monks & wolf druid/blightcasters & winter is kind of all over the place with INT, spell pen, tactics DCs, minor PRR/MRR & fort saves (another ), so probably arties?

My understanding from when Racial Completionist was first created was that when a new race was released (such as yesterday with Eladrin) anyone who already had Racial Completionist would lose it until they got the 3 new past lives. I guess that has changed a bit and now we have a little time.

PLEASE fix the animation on Eladrin with a bow! I am having WAY too much fun with AOE arti on Eladrin and would love to see him move his legs when he runs :D
Thank You

So why is it that the fey eladrin which is what this seems to be has proficiency in Longsword and Longbow, but the DDO race does not? That comes from the forgottenrealms wiki quoted here "In all states, fey eladrin were proficient combatants who excelled at the longsword and longbow. However, it was in the summer state that eladrin reached the pinnacle of their speed and proficiency with those weapons" It would have made more sense then giving them a weapon that gives the proficiency in the longsword. So I can use the longsword till I outlevel it and need a better longsword until I swap for the longsword feet? Seams like a very odd design choice. Design around the races natural proficiency rather than require the player to grab a profiency to continue using a weapon they get at level 15.

I think it's pretty lame that the bonus for 2 Eladrin past lives is another +1 in dexterity. This will be the 5th racial past life with a dex bonus. Meanwhile there is only one for strength and only two races for bonuses to int, wis, and con. How about showing a little bit more diversity in the racial past lives? Personally I hate dex builds.

I was not able to get the charisma based attunement racial action point thing that gives +3 doublestrike to work. No increase in dbl strike showed on my character sheet.
edit
I have EPL double strike and scourge iconic stance on. I tried toggling both on and off, did not notice an increase by +3.

You can change the Lip color...there is a scroll down bar and it is towards the bottom. Along with something else that I don't recall.
