What a bummer I always liked repeaters I still have three Artificer lives to do on my main and I just gotta repeater with adamantine and a red and orange slot I would love to craft a make something for lower levels now I have no idea what to do for my artificer lives considering Artie caster is supposed to be rather blah and melee blehhh.

I am running an Arti on Cormyr atm and so far this is what I have found...

Early levels suck! Fine style! The attack speed reduction is beyond ridiculous! But once you start getting the AoE's from Battle Engineer things do pick quite a bit. In addition to this it seems like the attack speed is going up a bit, now granted it's not anywhere close to what it was before but still it's not the worse.

I think it's akin to Alchemist in that early levels suck until you get Multi Vial (so I hear, never actually run one).

YMMV but that is my experience so far on a first life toon with nothing and running elite.

I wonder if this is like the sonic blast nerf. Was intentional to really go overboard in the early levels because they were really OP early?

10 seconds gets you 6 rounds of 3, melee with an axe gets 18 attacks in that time, great crossbow gets 1 per second.
So let's slow this down with Patience, where 10 seconds is now 5.5 attacks, or roughly 1 special attack every 2 seconds, with 10% wasted time in between. That means that Shoot First can be one of 3 special attacks every six seconds. Exalted Shot T2 KoTC can be a second. Shatter Defenses T3 BE rotated with Hunt's End will rotate as the third ability.

Repeater rotation is: SF > ES > SD > SF > ES > HE

Since 5 out of 6 of the attacks are now AoE, you probably get more hits/sec now than you did before, causing even more lag ;)

13 AP Inq AoE Shot, Imp. Observation fort bypass
9 AP KoTC DM + AoE Shot
5+2 tome AP FI Chr to hit/dmg
12 AP BE AoE Shot
41 HW Ranged Power, Abundent Step

15 Paladin
4 Arti Feats
1 Monk (Deflect Arrows)

You've made some interesting insights that make me think that heroic leveling with some sort of crossbow might not be such a pain.

What would be more powerful between inq or repeater build if one were to pick up Shoot First ranged aoe from inq, level 2 ranged aoe from paladin, and level 3 ranged aoe from BE arti to rotate between each aoe shot?
This is a good way of thinking. Rotation first, then work the build backwards from there.
