EPIC Legendary music moment(s)

On March 15, 2004, Prince was inducted to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. But that's not what most people remember. Most people remember the tribute to fellow inductee, George Harrison, when Prince stole the show with the most amazing guitar solo imaginable during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," upstaging Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and... well, everything else that happened that night. And at the end of the song, Prince casually tosses his guitar, never to be seen again. Prince enters about 3:27 in the song.. amazing ..

He was 'held up from falling off the stage' whilst playing, he definitely was one with that guitar !
The tale of the performance goes something like this: Joel Gallen, the producer of the telecast, wants to include Prince in the tribute. Olivia Harrison, George's widow, only wants people who knew George to perform. Gallen persuades Harrison and contacts Prince, who agrees to perform, saying "I'm going to listen to the song a few times, and I'll get back to you."

Gallen said, "They never rehearsed it, really. Never really showed us what he was going to do, and he left, basically telling me, the producer of the show, not to worry. And the rest is history. It became one of the most satisfying musical moments in my history of watching and producing live music." Tom Petty agreed, saying, "[Prince] just burned it up. You could feel the electricity of 'something really big's going down here.'" the performance was epic.

So, what is one of your favorite music Epic moments??

P.S. When I realized when I was hearing this song originally many years ago, when it came out, suddenly I feel old, but I have lived during a lot of epic music ! lol...

Prince was truly amazing, he wrote a lot of music for other artists as well. I love all forms of music. To me, Musicians are all Artists and Poets, a big piece of the Soul of Humanity.
I find some of Bob Dylan's songs really resonate again in these times. I recalled his big change to electric guitar live at Newport. Some were booing the sudden change, but suddenly realized the artist was creating a new combination. Bit before my time but ya, like you say, most of us live in an era of the magic of all music.

That was a BIG one. One performance I have gone back to watch several times on YT throughout the years.

I saw Tool during the Aenima Tour in Memphis, TN at the fairgrounds back in 98. No chairs, 100% floor, very low turnout. I could spread my arms straight out and not touch a soul. An awesome intimate show. Was sorry to have unavoidably missed the opening act...The Melvins (but caught them later at a Knights of Columbus venue in Indianapolis in 2000.

There are many more but lol...

Nope, this is it. Especially the looks from the other superstars telling him his solo is going long. All time great.

Absolutely ! Music resonates emotions, memories, thoughts, stories.. situations.. it heals.. all encompassing. Maybe it started by tapping sticks on a rock, but look how it evolved, and still evolving.
