Does it wipe the person with colors/rainbow proc, or anyone in the tentacles at the time of the proc?

From my memory, update 66 came right before the Tentacle porn. 66 had lots of issues and patches of it's own.
Notice lately, how when you zone into an area your hires and your own pet look like mobs? I think it happened around 66.
I wonder if Evard's is just programmed to see everyone as a Hostile, then does the check to see if you are Friendly. But if game lags, it could miss the "friendly check"
My buddy was running Acolyte of the skin. Wonder if it's programmed different that vanilla warlock.
