Evasion question

Greetings!

Sorry for the noob question but... Hive form gives evasion and improved evasion. Does it matter whether I'm wearing light or medium armor?

evasion requires light armour or less. If you wear medium or greater you will not get the benefit of evasion.

Usually you can´t use evasion while in medium or heavy armor. When you put on the armor, there will be a popup message telling you your evasion doesn´t work.

Also don't equip a large nor tower shield or it'll break evasion. Seen a few people used to using those on normal druids get confused why they weren't evading.

Thanks, everyone! It's weird, though. I'm not getting a message about evasion not working when I put on the medium armor. I thought maybe being in hive form (which grants the evasion) had something to do with it. (When I scroll through my feats in hive form, evasion and improved evasion are listed when wearing medium armor.)

There's a setting to show/hide evasion not working because of gear, you probably have it checked(unchecked?).

I have the UI set so that the combat chat should give me evasion information (even errors), but I don't get any messages (success or failure). I've switched armors (light/medium) and still nothing. As I'm writing this, I'll try to remember to try "No armor"... And I'll unequip my orb. We'll see!

Someone told me last night you have to watch the dice when it appears on screen. But they also told me if you don't have 75+ reflex at end game then it wont proc because you must have a really high dex to proc it. So it seems to me I'll just reset my tabaxi tree and wear heavy armor instead.

There is no warning that you have lost evasion until you try to use it and cannot. Then, a text message appears at the top of the screen: "EVASION FAILED.
You cannot evade <reason>"

Its a druid form, aka you transform into that form. Only people who can transform are all spell casters. In this case is druid only transformation, thus its a divine form, you pick up the evasion via this form, thus its a divine evasion.

Never heard it referred to as that and I'll never use it that way lol. But anyway, yeah it follows all the normal rules of evasion. I don't think there's ANYthing in the game that gives evasion that doesn't follow said rules.

Took me a few levels on my blightcaster to realize I was taking more damage than normal because I had lost evasion due to a large shield.

Theres no such thing as Divine Evasion. in 3.5 there was a prestige class Divine Oracle which got Prescient Sense which gave a evasion like effect that applied to any armor but specfically was called out on not being evasion for qualifying for feats.
