what choices

These were my choices.
- Another EK - Wiz (Don't want to do this yet, I want to really experience other potential "battlemages" first)
- Druid, I had this idea with snow wolf and ice storm, but druids don't seem to have imbue die and I don't own falconer so the hybrid nature is a tough sale?
- Warlock, Seems a bit lack luster, but ES and just auto attacking while the aura burns all around me I guess?
- Artificer, but I do not own Macrotechnic which seems to really make it shine.

In general, what you want is not really possible.
D&D system don't really "like" such stuff. And DDO as a PC game is all about min-max your abilities.
Mellees and Casters requre different Feats/Enhancements/Gear. You will be able either do spells damage with no weapon's one or do weapon damage but you spells would fail. Worst case scenario : you won't be able to damage anything with both spells and weapons.

The best option is melee with buffs.
Or you can use specific classes coming with "magic" abilities. Like Dragon Disciple or maybe Dragon Lord. But you don't own them.
So, create whatever (preferably with the Past Life you can benefit from) and start collecting those sweet DDO Points. 😏

I mean, it is possible. We have imbue die and eldritch knight. I'm just trying to find out if there is hybrid power outside of that.
I don't really care about min maxing, I just want to be able to enjoy the build and not be the worst in the party.

Things like DD and DL might have some battle mage vibes but yeah I do not own them yet.
Artificer could be great if I could tie it together with macro but alas that is rather pricey.

Blightcaster wolf has some imbue die so many there is a build there that allows me to cast magic spells that linger while I melee but I think I really need falconer for that to add wis to hit and damage.

I think for now I'm leaning to a Warlock with SWF, but I'm not sure how viable the experience will be since most older guides use the offhand vers feat that gave crit to all spells.

Sacred Fist? Might be up your alley - definitely more martial in nature, but has some ki spells and self buffs to work with.

I'm not a fan of Sacred Fist - rather do Ranger/Rogue or monk or paladin, but I am a casual player.

Haven't really given much thought to sacred fist yet, thought it was mostly purely martial like the base paladin was. Time to look into it

wolf works well. go str based ignore falconry
traditional is 11/7/8 but that is more just melee and no spells. a buddy did and 18 1 1 druid barb fvs and it worked very well

The problem is... he doesn't want STR-based. He wants WIS-based so he would be able to cast spells (not just buffs/heals, but damage spells that supposed to, well, do damage somehow)... But he doesn't own something to make WIS-to-Hit/DMG possible. Same with INT-to-Hit/DMG, CHA-to-Hit/DMG, etc. So he's walking in circles, not knowing what build to create... 😏

I'd second the high druid (17/18 druid class levels, 1-2 barb, 1 fvs) splits for heroic/epic leveling as a wolf/bear. It may not be the best optimized damage at cap, but it is stellar at leveling. Especially if you got a twink 2hander or two stashed up from previous runs. Quite fun to have nice buffs, selfhealing, snowslide to zoom about and go chomp chomp on enemies. Wolf for singletarget/running, bear for cleaving trash.

Yeah I was looking at the strimtom build but the aoe without shadar kai looks rough and the visuals don't really spire any vibes, it just looks like an auto attacker sadly. Looks really strong for single target though.

Time to level my freshly renincarnated character, I'm thinking warlock should be a good pick for battlemage stuff for now since artificers need macro destiny to tie it all together and the druid I had planned would need falconer.

Come hang!
