I actually like this raid. It's short and sweet (or it can be a disaster <3) and has a lot of story associated with it.

But the loot is terrible (insert meme here). It was even bad originally when first released! The quests loot was insane at the time but the raid no so, especially since the number 1 item from heroic was transitioned.

If we want mid epics to matter, let's do something about that loot guys. Update them to today's standards or heck, rework them into something amazing and awesome. The quests themselves are very popular, everyone almost always flags for it so it should be really something like chrono or von that gets run all the time.

Right now it's usually just ran as a fast solo out of boredom or for coms.

I support updating loot from the Epic Normal/Hard/Elite era.
That was honestly a bad loot era. I'm very glad we moved away from that style. Powercreep to oblivion and shadowfail at the same time!
i would to see old amrath and ToD...very hard quest on elite, sins the rog training, new invasion with epic end battle...wait!...all end battle in amrath are epic!...give us ToD

/edit ok or mayby no, give us old amrath on 40 char lvl :)

I'm not even sure we need to make those quests epic/legendary. They are already level 19 (so 21 on elite). Just updating the loot to today's standards will revitilise the ETR scene. People already run the quests for yugo pots, updating the raid loot so the raid gets run will be enough. Also, TOD ring's are still bugged for monks which makes me sad.

If I would actually learn the mechanics better I would like it more. But that is on me and not the raid.

I remember is competing with CitW and Deathwrym. I remember a few pieces people went after but it was mostly Com's for CitW weapons. That was its niche.

It would have to compete with the above two (well, 3) raids from that era and I doubt SSG wants to do that. A lot of headache with no return.

Deathwyrm was a lot, lot later. Cap was 28 when we had Deathwyrm. Epic gianthold was before even Shadowfail. I remember vividly because the bracers that were +8 str/+8 con went from being so good at level 24 to level 15 now.

The drac soul augs are still a trade able chase item if it only it had raid runes

I would like a updgraded legendary GH TOR with tradeable reaper armor and hats

This one of my favorite raids. I run it for fun or join a group everytime I see one, but I have all the lootables and plenty of comms.

For all of Gianthold, they need to convert all the items - convert all normal and hard drops in the entire adventure pack into their elite versions, but also adjust all items to the Normal difficult equipping level.

They actually need to do this to all of the adventure packs soiled by this mechanic.

Feather of Sun is the most despised developer in the game's history for really good reason. His loot philosophy was abominable and contemptuous of the players.

But don't ever hope for any work to be done in that level range. 20-33 is a graveyard. Nothing will ever be done there again. All content moving forward will be padding out heroic levels until there's one expansion for each one, and stuff at the level cap.

Next year's expansion pack will be level 35 or 36, and then the heroic level will either be 14 if they are continuing the Myth Drannor story, or 4 if they are going with a followup to the adventure pack currently on Lammania...because what the game really needs is more super low level content [Insert massive sarcasm here].

Making next year's expansion at level 4 would in fact be the worst possible decision they could make - jamming in a full xpac's worth of gear 1 level above Saltmarsh and 1 level below Feywild. Who is going to bother storing a full set of new gear for that? So obviously with it being the worst thing they could do, it is absolutely what they are going to do.

What they need to be doing is filling in gaps. Where are the fewest dungeons? Put an expansion there. For the 2026 expansion that will be raising the level cap to 36, make the adventures level 25 and 36/37. Give us a reason to care about epics. Most people either just put on their level 15 Sharn stuff and go to cap, or maybe they regear a bit at 20 or 21 (if they want to wait for Borderlands stuff) and go to cap. All of the quests and drops in between those levels are just ignored. Heck, a lot of people don't even do those quests anymore, they hit 20 and go straight to doing legendary.

Terrible design.

Yes, yes, yes, yes and sorta. I'd much rather it was JUST 35 or 36 or whatever. I'm tired of everything being low level and high level with vecna obviously being the worst offender yet. 18 and 33? Really?

I'm more worried it'll be level 4 AND 25 AND 36 and they will pretend the expansion has 8x3 quests

Sharn + Epic Salt Marsh + Epic GoMF (paired w/ Abishi + Red Fens) for me at 20. No need to switch w/ artifact, profane, and unique bonuses provided through Red Fens.

Same, I use salty and some combination of either kundarak/vulkors or elders/abisai

Still find it unfortunate that my level 15-20 gear is WAY better than almost all menace/shadowfail/druids/gianthold/3bc/nether.

I hated it when they skipped the n/h/e loot with the last weapon update. They needed it the most.

Looted a lvl28 stormhorns elite named weapon yday.
1d6+5 with 4elements of 5d4.

Putting a tiny bit of effort updating loot to give some old content a new spark of life is good design.

If you read my posts you have already lost
everytime I think of SSG updating loot I think of the atrocity that was "updated" catacombs/deleras loot as well as the "upgraded" red fens and carnival heroic loot.
