First Alchemist question

Ok, so this is my first time playing an alchemist and I'm looking at the bombardier enhancements. I see that core 3 I can increase acid spell caster level by 3. What I can't see is where I can increase max caster level. Am I just missing something?

Bit of a necro, but ..there isn't any, at least in the the tree.

Advanced [x] studies (alchemist feat) gives +1mcl to certain colour spells
