First life monk build (newbie)

Hello everyone

Just started playing on Cormyr a week ago (or so). I'm a new player and my knowledge of the game is very poor so i'm looking for builds on YT, this site, reddit. I tried Strimtom's melee warlock, currently playing Axel's THF Barbarian but monk's gameplay also looks fun for me, but here is a problem. Monk got rework few months ago and it's builds don't work anymore. Problem i'm facing right now is lack of builds on the internet. I don't want to create it on my own because I know this game is very complex and i'm sure a noob build won't be good in the long run (and i simply don't enjoy creating builds). So if someone would be so kind to share an updated melee monk build first life friendly (quarterstaff or fists) or simply write it step by step it would be very helpful. I dont't mind spending money on additional skill tree or something else if it costs a few dollars.

This guide illustrates the art of the possible at level-cap in reaper difficulty after maximum investment in past lives and raid gear. You can still use this guide as a framework if you have few past lives or don’t have the gear.

Does it means I cannot use this build without any past lives?

@Ying describes it as a framework, so you should be able to back out anything you don't have and still be pretty effective.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but I have a low pastlife monk life coming up and I was planning on using this as the template. . .

You can use that build without past lives or tomes. You'll lose out on the racial AP, and will only have 69 AP to spend for Epic Destinies. You'll want to adjust starting stats and level ups to ensure you have 17 DEX for GTWF if you don't have any tomes.
