Ok, I just did the ratios for the top 20 reaction scores list, to 2 decimal places, no rounding. So as of THIS exact moment and expected to change constantly as time continues moving forwards, the results are as follows:

Cordovan @ 3.40
@Aelonwy @ 3.28
@Ying @ 2.79
@Dom @ 2.75
@Teh_Troll @ 2.72
@Kimbere @ 2.64
@Dandonk @ 2.20
@rabidfox @ 2.17
@vryxnr @ 2.00
@Anurakh @ 1.87
@Guntango @ 1.79
@mikarddo @ 1.65
@droid327 @ 1.58
@FVSHasBeenEvenMoreGutted @ 1.51
@J1NG @ 1.35
@kmoustakas @ 1.29
@saekee @ 1.20
@Bjond @ 1.19
@Hobgoblin @ 1.04
@DBZ @ 0.69

Obviously there are others who should be on this list, but I only took from the "highest score" list as it's easy to see and deal with.
I’d obviously score higher if my threads stopped disappearing.

I see what you did there
Hmmm...this makes me wonder if the resident forum chaos agents will start slinging reactions in order to skew the scoring.

A while back I did this calculation to see who had the highest quality posts as viewed by the public (aka: ratio of posts to positive reactions), and iirc Aelonwy was at the top of the list. They haven't been active here for quite a while though, so it might have changed. If/when I have a moment I may go back and see what it's like now. *shrugs*

Not all reactions are equal btw. iirc some of them gives +1 score (like, love, laugh), and others give +0 score (wow, sad, angry)

Laugh and wow can go both ways imo. Laughing with (positive) vs laughing at (negative), wowing in awe at something amazing (positive), wowing with sarcasm/disgust/disappointment (negative). But by what I understand of the forums, this is how they are ranked (laugh is scored as positive while wow is scored as neutral)
Sad can also go both ways. I have a sad reaction from someone who agreed with me but was just sad that what I said was true.

Mirrored sentiment is a positive, but then they'd need a bit of AI to guess at the score. Would be nicer if they tracked each emoji rather than scoring them.

'Course for a troll, any reaction is a score!

ok, you all have pointed out some interesting stuff, I'd like to point out the following:

@Dom & @Ying seems to be our leaders in the ratio score & in my personal opinion, they tend to deliver a s-ton of value. (honorable mention to- @Cordovan who has a unique advantage)

it'd be easy to create tiers in a logarithmic fashion, like:
0-.2 = Starting
.3-.6 = Progressing
.7-1.1 = Average
1.2-1.7 = Leading
1.8-2.4 = Winner
2.5+ = Legend

or some such, the idea being that the exact number is not so relevant as the grouping, which can be valuable to folks who don't know others by names. (how many ppl don't know Dom/Ying, could their experience & knowledge be noted for all to consider, would a noob challenge a legend with inflammatory comments or challenge the legend with curiosity)

plus it's kind of a mini-game and would promote kindness (IMO).

while negative reactions do factor in, I believe folks are less likely to give a negative reaction, which is good b/c it means we as a community would prefer to support then detract others.

anyway, I can sense there's no appetite for change. thanks for chatting with me/us :)
While there are a few notably valuable posters that are responsible for some of the most informative and helpful posts on the forum, most of the high reactions are just friends liking friend's stuff. Some of the highest reactions are from people that are almost never helpful on the forums but have a lot of guild members on the forum that give a lot of support for whatever is said. Posting a bunch of stuff everyone agrees with is also an effective way to get reactions up, even if the posts are of little value.

I don't dislike the idea of having some way for the truly helpful members to stand out (Rabidfox comes to mind along with a few others), but it would be difficult to have a system that isn't colored by the popularity contest that influences much of the reaction score system.

Was just about to post that any refined system must be able to deduct the score recieved from your guildies or it will be equally meaningless.
