Free DDOQuests with 64b Migration?

With DDO migrating en masse to 3 new servers, presumably this would be a good time to make a marketing push for the game, and a superb accompaniment to that would be to release a Free DDOQuests code for new players. It would be easy to do, and it is an opportunity that should not be missed. Please, take advantage of this low-hanging fruit!

PS - I'd personally even go a step further and hold a Summer Sale that has all old expansions available in the DDO store at a packaged rate. Maybe 500 DDO points for Eveningstar, Wheloon, Ravenloft, Sharn, and Feywild. Include a unique cosmetic cape in the bundle. People who already own one of them could get the cape in the Hall of Heroes.

It's a fantastic idea and I'd go a step further and bring back the Veteran Status III for the duration of the initial transfer window, this is a great opportunity to entice new players to come play the game especially with the opening of the EU server.

I would release the old Xpacks like before for the 99 points and and the next in line to that list but also offer the other BASE expansions at a reduced rate in-game (not Lamordia).

Reminds me of the time we were driving one day and my youngest daughter was telling us about her new waitressing job, and how she'd had a young in girl about 5 years old with her parents, who told her she looked like a Disney princess, which made her well chuffed. 😊

Until...

My son pipes up from the back seat "Was it Fiona?" 🙄

I nearly crashed the car Laughing! 🤣

To be fair to her, fair play, she found it funny too. 😁👍

Cool idea, perhaps they have already thought about something like that and it's gonna be announced soon :)

Another attempt by free-to-play players to get their entertainment for free.

I would wait until the transfers are done; maybe in a couple months whenever the expansion releases. While new players are good for long term game stability, I don't think having competition for long standing names vs a bunch of brand new players on the new worlds would be good.

I agree with The Canary (😉👍) there. Timing is important. We don't want poor souls turning up in the midst of chaos whilst all the moves sort themselves out. 👍

I support this wholeheartedly.

However, I don't believe they did this on the LOTRO side. If I recall correctly- they only received a code for some gifts as compensation, after server transfers didn't go as seamlessly as they could have.

So I guess if we want similar- we should hope for things to go slightly pear-shaped :p

Bringing back the 99 point sale and putting old expansions on sale makes a lot of sense. Particularly if SSG want the influx of returning players which LOTRO saw when they opened their 64 bit servers.

We are starting the summer sale period so presumably SSG have already been thinking about this.

Step 1 was putting character slots on sale. Step 2 we find out in a couple of days.
