Full Artificer Build

I have been watching Strimtoms beginners videos and the one he uses has rogue in it. I have access to the Harper tree so I would like to go full Artificer. Can anyone recommend a build. I have searched but I am not sure if the build is viable since some of them are several years old. Thanks ;)!

Artificer hasn't gotten any buffs in a while, which means most builds in this forum still works fine. Did you want melee, ranged, or caster DPS?

I will be respecing my 20 level human artificer. At the time this character was made I didn't have access to warforged. Can anyone point me in a direction of a human ranged artificer build?

I'm doing a human artificer ranged now and am thinking of going to half elf. I have some rouge skills in past life that would complement the half elf tree for the Half-Elf Dilettante: Rogue *Dilettante is a special access to rouge abilities of sneak attack dice which doesn't break the pure artificer path but adds abilities from both the human and the elf racial trees depending on your choices as the racial tree is opened per tier each selection gives you the choice of the one for the human tree or the one for the elf tree in that way you can follow the tree through both race. the Dilettante choice is offered in several classes not just rogue.
I also converted to living construct so I can repair instead of heal . without going warforged.
I use the harper tree for ranged power I 1st started thinking of the melee power for a melee character but i never got away from the ranged artificer yet another reason I was thinking of tr to half elf.
level 22 in epics holding on but losing at solo r1 level. with 16 reaper points mostly in damage with bow

It's honestly not going to look much different from Warforged builds, apart from using your bonus feats to pickup the Construct Essence feats. About the only question marks are:
  1. Whether or not to take Improved Precise Shot which requires base DEX 19 (inc. tome); without it, you save a feat and only need DEX 17 for Combat Archery in epics. Some argue that with AoE ranged attacks like Shatter Defenses etc., IPS is no longer necessary, especially with the damage penalty.
  2. For levelling 1-25, I'd use medium armor. When you get to 26, it's up to you whether to switch to light Armor + Evasion from Shadowdancer; or stick with medium armor for the uncapped MRR and extra bonuses from Renegade Mastermaker.

Its pretty boilerplate I think...

Max INT, high CON, have at least 13 DEX starting or 11 DEX with a +2 tome

41 points in Battle Engineer, 8 points in Harper for Know The Angles, 13 points in Inquisitive if you have it for Shoot First, the rest in Renegade and maybe 5 points in Human for +20 Hamp and +1 INT if you're not going cyborg.

Max Search, Disable, Open, UMD, Spot, and then whatever you like

Feats: Point Blank, Precise Shot, Dodge, Mobility, Rapid Shot, IC: Ranged, Shot on the Run, Insightful Reflex, Precision, Quicken, Maximize, Empower, Luck of Heroes (which gets boosted in Shiradi). Construct Essence/Imp CE is optional, but if you want to take them, take them both at the same time at L12 and drop Empower and Luck.

I wouldnt recommend doing CE/ICE though, just because it only helps you from 12-18. At 18, you bank 20...and at 20, Epic Destinies greatly favor Positive healing, and Repair gear makes gear Tetris harder

You can pretty much drop Open Lock. 4 initial points and a swap item with +/Ins. + will let you open anything, especially with a high Int.

OL is a Dex skill, it's DD and Search that are Int

But a human pure arti Int based will have more skill points than they can spend anyway, like a stupid amount. No reason to dump anything remotely useful.

D'oh... Guess I rolled a 1. Still, I would suggest points into Spellcraft or Heal over Open Lock.

I am currently working on a bubble build for raids and high reaper. It's kinda tanky and has awesome raid buffs from macrotechnic but not a good leveling build.

I prefer leveling 1-6 pew pew pew 7-14 caster 15-29 melee and then switch it up to bubbles

Construct essence feats are amazing and absolutely worth it. Ignore the feedback that advises you against them. You will love them.

My arti heals very reasonably well on R10 with them.

Take them at the same time at level 12, having only one is torture.

Kinda hurts not taking improved critical at 12 hence why we blast rod and lightning bolt and we start melee at 15 :p

Well, changing a feat at level 11 is not expensive, so you can also change a lower level feat for CE just before leveling up to 12 and then you can get improved crit and ICE at 12.

If you are careful to have the dragonshard on hand by the time you reach 12, it is not much of a problem. And unless you are a very new player, the plat is not a problem either (there is always the Lockania option if you want a free option of course, but I like to reserve it for an oops moment in legendaries).
