Future Hardcore season ideas.

* For favor, make it tier based like 1500, 3000, 4500 and so on.
* Have some rewards based off of the monster manual slayers to get special pets.
* Maybe have random normal loot chests that act like they were fey twisted chests from the feywild expansion. The loot from said chests would have a much higher chance of getting max stats and extra tier/augment slots.
* Maybe some rewards based off of completing explorer points / rare encounters in wilderness areas.
* Hardcore was based off of the perma death playstyle. It might not be possible besides self-done but I wouldn't mind seeing a random created toon aspect to the hardcore season with special rewards for doing so.

Thats my two cents for now.

I thought this was going to be about the HC themes. IMHO, I think at first they should correspond to the 13 planes that co-exist with Eberron. So far the original season doesn't match anything but the next was clearly Shavarath, then we had probably Irian with the Celestial season, then we had Dal Quor, then a redux of S1, then Thelanis, then redux of S2, then this Dragon Hoard season which admittedly doesn't correspond to the planes. But the idea of the seasons rotating back around matches the idea of the planes being coterminous with Eberron in a cycle.

Matching the planes with HC seasons allows for future seasons to correspond with Mabar, Daanvi, Syrania, Dolurrh, Fernia, Kythri, Lamannia, Risia, and Xoriat.

New seasons need something different from a recolored cloak, eyes or footprints as a reward. A new weapon aura or new weapon cosmetic would be cool.

Or maybe hardcore will finally be the motivation needed for SSG to add player titles to DDO.

How about when your character dies on HC, one of your veteran characters on the other servers goes PUFF and disappears forever.

Just kidding.

what about HC leaders for each player class and to give a unique prize/weapon/item for each class? Perhaps that would get people to TR more or encourage people to play different classes or keep playing HC til the end of the season. Of course, you would still have the usual favor and reaching lvl 20 rewards.

Class-based leader boards are an interesting idea. For the sake of simplicity, it would have to be based on your character party frame icon. For example if you're a 10 rogue/10 druid (please dont play this), your icon is a rogue and would be tracked on the rogue leaderboard.

I'd like a way to validate my name on a leaderboard is actually me (or anyone's name for that matter). Aside from people who stream their entire life like Dom did when he got his wings, there's no way to validate who someone on the leaderboard actually is. You can't validate by character name because people snipe names, or the name is the use across multiple servers. Perhaps display the forum display name in parenthesis after the name.

Evening/Morning Everyone!

Here’s What I would like to see, or have an idea for!

  • Solo Only Path “Option”
    • This Option or Path Is like Favor but, is Limited to only Soloed Or solo able Content For example, You can not solo Vault of Night Expansion Part 5-6, But can Solo Vault of Night Part 1-4, With this you only Get the Favor for completing these, If your Running solo Up Until this point and have not Grouped with anyone else. Different from the Total Favor Recorded, Leader Boards, or Has its own leaderboard.
    • This Option or Path, would disable the party mode, so that you can not be able to join a group.
    • This Mode would not allow you to be able to do reaper mode, with other players.
    • Shards Are Not allowed.
    • No Experience potions, unless Otherwise.
  • A continued Objective like, 7 Treasures Or something similar.
    • For instance Map areas Instead of chests, or chests in the ground.
    • Something done with Cannith challenges / Evening Star Challenges.
  • More Seasons!

As always,
Light speed -

I agree that we need some new cosmetics other than a cloak. What about some cosmetic armor? new mounts? weapon auras (that actually work with handwraps)

Etitron has an interesting idea with the challenges. Its content that is rarely run, but can be fun to throw in. Get X stars in all the challenges to win X prize.

Protip: You'll get much more engagement if your post isn't difficult to read. Black letters on a black background might as well be invisible. If you can't make the effort to make it easy to read, why should I read it? Food for thought.

I'd like to see a Monster Hunter season where the rewards are based not on levels or favor but the total number of different types of creatures you have killed, like the Hunter deeds from the Monster Manual (of which we seriously need some new volumes SSG!!) but not specific to a particular creatur type, instead have a reward at 500 different types, 1000 different types etc. That would get people to go hunt down rares and optionals and really explore every nook and cranny of the game to up their score.

Here we are eight seasons in, and I don't know why cosmetics are so stale. Plenty of other games have figured out how to reward players without providing power or becoming stagnant with the cosmetics.

Provide a non-combat pet as the base reward (1000 favor), then make pet emotes various levels of the season: 1750, 2500, 5000, 7500 favor, 10 reaper points, 20 reaper points, 30 reaper points, etc. I'd rather see characters have emotes they can do, but the economics don't work. Much simpler/faster/economical to make 1 pet and X emotes rather than having to implement X emotes for each of N=24 races.

World of Warcraft has hundreds of toys in their toy box, where it's just a limited duration summoned animation that has no combat impact -- just for show. Like illusions in D&D. Plenty of fun ideas you could implement here that are Eberron or D&D specific. Speaking of which, we're 17 years in and there's no way to do illusions in DDO. Here's the opportunity.

I was really happy with the glitched bug where I could have both my bloody prints and golden prints turned on at the same time; it gave a unique look for having done both seasons (was sad when they fixed it and made it impossible to use both). Combo'd effects would be nifty to have on purpose, where someone with zero footprints gets their 1st set and those with prior prints gets a new improved shiny that lets them show off having done multiple seasons.

Toggles for making spell effects visual changes. =) See someone popping off purple fireballs then you know they did season 12 of HC.

Yeah, spell cosmetics would rock. I have a feeling that's way more complicated under the hood than illusion-style cosmetics.
