Ghost Worlds Now Available For Free Transfer

We are continuing to look into the environment to make it as robust as possible. So far all data indicates that we have had quite a few successful transfers and issues preventing successful transfer are due to heavy demand on the service and heavy load on the ghost worlds. So, while the experience is frustrating currently, we are seeing steady success, it's just that the immediate rush is causing disruptive demand on the services. If you don't need to transfer right away, consider finding a slower time to do it, but these issues should naturally decrease as demand levels out.
The easy solution was to open one or two old servers at a time. You should have KNOWN there would be a rush if you opened them all at once.

Why does common sense never enter into your equations?

What does "quite a few" mean? 5? 28? 376? What assets are you using to make the environment "robust"? How many transfer per hour are considered "steady success"? 2 an hour? Why wasn't there a plan in place to prevent a "disruptive demand" on the services? You expect the player base to interrupt their day & diurnal cycle to fit YOUR lack of planning? Again more gas lighting. People have YEARS of playing time & many have thousands of $$ invested in the game & their characters, there is emotion, time & money all attached to these things. So the obvious lack of planning & consideration YOU as a company has placed in planning for situations like this & events is VERY concerning. The player base is already small but EXTREMELY invested in this game so flippant responses & gas lighting aren't a real answer. How about showing some respect & loyalty back to us. This should be an ALL HANDS ON DECK event to fix the situation. The player base trying to be able to play the game we pay for is not seeing an appropriate response.

Well, I tried for a few more hours. Still no luck. Might try tomorrow again, if I can stomach it.

I'm getting pretty tired of using hours upon hours trying to fix what was broken due to a forced transfer. I didn't cause this, I didn't choose this. SSG did.

Over 100 transfer tries before today, impossible-to-comply-with advice from Help ticket, and now another round of transfers not working...

Yeah, not happy Dan. Sorry. Dan does not feel like believing today.

Either SSG has the memory of a goldfish or they couldn't care less about the paying customers. I leave that for the reader to decide.

I tried some stuff that simply should not work, and I was able to create a new character on G-Land.

This is quite obviously not WAI.

I did my usual new character runaround, then went into Lordsmarch Bank to try /transfer pack. It failed to initiate, so that I was forced to hard quit the game.

In hindsight, I should probably have exited the game before trying this stuff.

Anyway, as things stand now, when trying to log into G-Land, I get stuck on "Validating credentials" and I am unable to log into the game world. No problem logging in to Moonsea BTW.

In my case no big deal really as it's no more than a silly test toon -- but it does look like a certain number of bugs do exist -- and some people logging in could potentially end up in a bad account state from this sort of thing.

I rolled a new alt years ago and got booted while running the Shipwreck Shore quest. I just checked, and that alt is still in the Shipwreck Shore. He's talked to Jeets and has his weapon, but can't enter the part to do the quest.

This is no issue. I can easily roll another alt, but there are still a few schisms floating around the game for sure.

I call BS on the "data" as I have been trying nonstop since yesterday several times each hour some hours constant including at around 3 a.m. EST when only 900 players were online. You are going to tell me a weeknight at 3 in the morning is going to be so busy it times out on me and I could never get in once and that your system can even be in the discussion of robust. Seems like it is based on just pure luck. Starting to see why you all claimed they will be open two years as it might take that long to see our characters and ships ever again.

I agree on it being just pure luck, and I'm not sure I'd even call it that. When i got lucky enough for the transfer wizard to finally launch. It then only showed Wayfinder as a server to transfer from.

It is now just after 4 a.m. on the East coast of America and only just over 1000 people are playing the game. It is by far the slowest time of the day always in use from say 2:30 here until 4ish. Still nothing. I timed out every time I tried and I know I did it 80 times over that period. I dare anyone to share with me internally the "data" that supports how many must have been signing up that caused the servers to keep timing me out. I am not in the mood to be patient when I know I am being lied too and why should I not have access to my characters and ships I paid for. How about rather than give away free content to everyone so create more traffic you offer assistance to those that have been here 16 years. Maybe give me say 4000+ AS to replace the ships I, my daughter and her friends cannot access I paid for an we have had for years while we are being patient on your squirrel run servers to allow us the chance to transfer possibly in some distant time. Pathetic excuses get old fast and I shall not like waiting months for this to be fixed.

5:29am to 5:32am eastern time. Just transferred 4 toons in 3 minutes. Was almost instant and even received the confirmation emails.

A returning guild member just managed to get 3 toons off of Gland to Thrane sometime in the wee hours of the morning.

I finally got the transfer wizard to complete. Yay.

I got an email confirmation. Yay.

The characters still failed to transfer. Not yay.

So, SSG, what do I do now?
This ^.

Like so many, I have played this game since the very beginning, back when pick-up groups were formed just to go through the waterworks so we could get into the market! This is one of the rare times when I actually feel the need to say something. On the whole, I do not post on the forums, I just enjoy the content.

While the majority of my characters were able to be transferred over without incident before the 32-bit worlds closed, two of them (naturally the oldest and the ones with the most 'stuff'), have not. Requests have been filed (a couple times over), and no responses have been given. I did manage to finally get the transfer button to work for me yesterday - and they failed to transfer. Again.

So, please, those of us who continue to have this issue - what do we do? What can we do? What are our options? What is our next course of action? This is the guild leader of my very small group of friends and acquaintances, which are left in complete limbo as well as me. Any help, any assistance, any guidance at this point would be appreciated. Thank you.

Our option seems to be to sit here and take it. I have not heard of a single person stuck in this unable to transfer limbo actually being helped by someone other than CS. And all CS has to say is "Do these things that you have already done or are literally impossible to do with characters who are already packed and stuck in between worlds."

Alas, as I feared.
