If it’s been a while and you’re having trouble locating the worlds you used to adventure on, we recommend using the Character Transfer Wizard to help find your missing characters. To begin, simply log in through the launcher and click “Transfer.” The wizard will guide you step-by-step through the process and show all currently available worlds that have existing characters.

Please note that transfers are currently being throttled to help prevent system overload. If you experience any errors or are unable to complete the transfer, we suggest waiting a short while and trying again.

If you still don’t see your characters, they may be associated with a different account or located on a world that has since been closed. When a world is retired, we provide players with the ability to transfer their characters to a new world of their choice — free of charge — within a designated timeframe. Once that window has passed, Customer Support is unable to recover characters or items from those closed worlds.

This is WORTHLESS.

Do they somehow not understand the very well-documented problem of incorrectly packed characters being in limbo and unable to be transferred ??

Yes, CS has been... less than helpful on transfer issues, sadly. The replies have often been completely off point, and include advice that's not even possibly to follow.

SSG has been very quiet on this. Cordovan was pretty dismissive of my concerns last time I went on Fridays@Four, so I've given up on that. No reply on Discord, either.

People have been without their characters for months, but SSG does not seem to care. Not even a little bit.

I successfully transferred 103 characters, there's just this 104th left over.

But this is still very very shoddy, particularly as this is a very well known issue that has been ongoing since Day One of the transfers months ago.

They really need to find some way to de-pack these limbo toons and let people start again.

I can remember the old Codemasters > Turbine transfers from Euro-DDO to US -- there were multiple issues, but I can remember nobody being left behind (except those with lapsed subscriptions), even though they had to do a LOT of transfers manually.

That "This ticket is now considered closed. Any future replies or updates will not be reviewed, and the ticket will be marked as solved." smacks frankly of an outright refusal to assist.

Yeah, I transferred 50 or so just fine myself, but have four left that won't transfer. And yes, the old EU transfers took ages (enough for me to start running for a while on Thelanis), though I don't remember anyone being left behind either.

So yeah, closing tickets without a resolution, refusing to engage with players on the topic, and no word about it for a long time now... it is not a good look. Not nearly. And I'm starting to fear that you are right, they won't help. And the two years will run out and we'll be out of luck, "too bad, your characters are gone, here, take this sunflask as apology".
