Glass Shards...Has it Been Fixed?

Starting to work on my Artificer again, and his current Heavy Repeating Crossbow is Stickerclick, the Bitter Hail of Bolts.
I'm looking for a replacement heavy repeater, and The Anarchist's Crossbow appears to be a suitable option.

However, if its Glass Shards effect still doesn't work after eight years (the effect was first found on Spite, the Fractured Shards shuriken from the Old Baba's Hut raid in Ravenloft), I'm thinking I should look into some other alternative.

Does anyone know if the Glass Shards effect has been fixed or not? As I recall, every time the shuriken or missile hit a foe, it reset the stack back to one, making it a practically useless effect.

Thanks.

Well it's like the throwing weapon that proks paralyzation, works fine until IPS is activated. After which it refuses to prok at all. Dev's refuse to say or do anything with it, which strikes me as WAI from SSG's point of view.

Would not be surprised if we're seeing a similar situation here, as that effect is pretty awesome.

Just for reference, the bug with glass shards is that as long as you're hitting the target you'll never see any damage from it. Every time a new stack is added/refreshed, it resets the timer which prevents the damage from going off; it'll only do damage after you stop attacking a target.

It'd be a really nice QoL improvement, and maybe even a shakeup in the meta, if there was a big audit and patch and all the items that were balanced around having certain effects actually had those effects.

I don't think this is actually causing the game performance issues but I find myself imagining

1: if Hit, then 2
2: StringTableError DID DO NOT USE, then start garbage collection
3: if garbage collection, then garbage collection

(Of course this can't be it, as mostly players aren't using items with effects that don't work. I wonder how many intended hidden effects that there might be historically that players never found because they don't work).

So that was over two years ago... Progress is so speedy it's crazy !

Ugh, so it's way past time to assign the item a new effect. Dust would do fine, it's known-to-work.

That's possible too. Was just asking if it was possible it was fixed without being in any notes. I guess I'll have to farm one up and test it to figure out the best way to document the bug on wiki.
Remember... Video or it didn't happen.

In other words... check is in the mail suckers. And the devs wonder why we don't trust them.

8 years to correct this. I'm feeling so sad...
@SteelStar Would you, or whoever the loot dev is, either fix Glass Shards or maybe replace it with an appropriate DPS effect on the two crossbows from the Fire Over Morgrave raid, please?

Thanks.

Okay, hit cap and tossed on my xbow. Here you can see about 50% to 66% of the glass shard procs were being lost (on the right shows the rate of proc when they're just ticking away on their own). This was on a non-ranged build so it's attacking slow since it has no ranged alacrity/etc. The faster you attack, the more the proc timer gets interupted and lost.
