i am farming for gloves of the falcon and i either cannot find this dude, or he just isn't spawning

he is past vovyrand darklur (who spawns allt the time), south of maraud the mines according to the wiki. is this correct? there are two spheres at end of path, never in there nor on the ground when i jump through there. please let me know if i'm looking in the wrong place

Its probably easier to farm tokens and buy them - sands wilderness rares are not great to farm imo.

It is a point up high—after that group past Maraud the mines, you are going to jump down to the path below, then follow the rise up and back around. Always one of them spawns.

If I am looking for an item from a rare spawn, I usually farm all of the rares. In the process, I may pull what I want, but at least I get plenty of tokens as there are usually 5-15 or so tokens in a rare chest even if there is no named item

Not certain if you are in the exact right place from your description. If you run up the hill past Vorvand, drop down to the lower path, continue running and then hairpin back up the hill you will get to 3 huts. The first hut to the right is where Ayurro spawns.

Errulf spawns in the same hut and you will always get one or the other. If you look from below the hut you can tell which spawned by the location of the chest. If it is Errulf the chest will be to right (when looking up from below) and to the left if it is Ayurro.

Also Vorvand doesn't always spawn. If you have seem them every run that is just RNG being random.

You are going to the wrong spot. You are up the hill from Maurad the Mines. The rare(s) location is past that. Head toward same spot but stay left and go up hill to possible other rare and drop down hugging wall to right and continue up and hard right to practically identical spot where they spawn.

Gather 625 Antique Bronze Tokens and talk to the trader inside the building just before and to the left of the open-air tavern in Zawabi's Refuge.

You can get up to 8 rares fairly quickly running indirectly to the guy (or gal? not sure gender of that rare...) that drops the gloves. All of which drop tokens as can whatever else you kill along the way. So farming the gloves via the rare while farming tokens via other rares simultaneously is for sure the best route.

i want to say they are gnolls which are a matriarchal society so prob female? not sure if its sexual dimorphism or if its cultural....
