I wonder what the lead in quest to the expansion will be. Maybe unknowingly boarding the cyre 1313 ghost train while on an expedition in the mournlands then bailing out as it's passing through lamordia or something like that.

The fact we don't already have cyre 1313 is incredibly disappointing. Instead we get mentally ill mindflayers and love struck warforged.

Damn I was afraid that they would use the retconned 5th edition domain rather then the classic old school domain from 2nd edition and this article seems to confirm that. Oh well guess I'll be sitting this one out ☹️

The real chill would be us freezing from shock if they ever fixed the U37 filigree... from the first Ravenloft release. 🙄

Purity - Immune to Mummy Rot. Still broken. Reports and screenshots both submitted the first week of release. [Reply: "Will be fixed soon".]
Cry of Battle and Trapper's Delight - Bonus randomly turns off on both sets, requiring re-equip to register again.

We may eventually get a "We did a Thing!" bug fix bundle, that comes with (10) bank slots, but at least fix filigree.

Sounds like hella fun. I'll probably just be creating a gothic adventurer and playing it through.

I actually don't know much about Eberron lore beyond the game but looked up Cyre 1313 and it would be awesome for a quest on a ghost train. A long, straight dungeon with no side passages.

I wonder if thetankclub is even reviewing the right game? From the link above:

"The Chill of Ravenloft” introduces six gothic-themed quests, a cold damage survival system, and the return of the Necromancy spellbook for frosty builds. You’ll also find new housing decor, including a Haunted Manse stronghold. Expect mechanics like body temperature management and stamina-draining zones to add tactical depth to winter exploration."

Interestingly...new, if somehow accurate.

I would have preferred the Adam storyline as well, but there are some really cool things in 5e going on with Baron Von Aubrecker that are worth checking out.

The new expansion sounds fun to me (all aspects of it).

A racial-based "pale master" was on my list of things I'd like to see in DDO. The iconic version letting me have evil damage for both Warlock blast and Warlock pact sounds great. Now, just add a way to convert Black tentacles to use evil spell power (e.g. Spell feat "Touch of Evil" that can be applied to spells so that they use evil spell power instead of their usual elemental spell power).

Dhampir sounds like an interesting race for Druids (in bear form) and other STR-based builds, assuming they can still vampire-bite as a bear to get HP back.

An alchemist hireling sounds like an interesting addition to my options.

Dark gifts sound interesting, but I'll wait to see what the final play balance is like. 6 second stun sounds like a death sentence for solo play, even if the chance is "very" small. The devs might think that 1% is very small, but most players would find that inconveniently high due to the inevitable surge in deaths. Instead, why not consider counting a Dhampir as helpless (taking extra damage) for a few seconds?

I will probably take the +3 skills when low level and then visit Fred after my second death to switch to a "utility" Dark Gift, like misty step.

Looks like some ordinary AI-generated garbage. 🥱

Don't think Lovecraft knew about Ravenloft... 😆
