SSG should do something to help out Cormyr - perhaps providing extra incentives for the next hardcore event on Cormyr so there is a bit of an increase in population for the event.

Close Cormyr and open a server in Korea or Japan for the APAC crowd. That is better. 3 servers in US mid-west is ridiculous.

So what are you racing to anyway? I didn't read the link, not from Cormyr so not interested in all the deets.

Cormyr just needs to get more of the new players to actually stick around. I am curious to know how low the new player retention % actually is.

There are currently 13 groups on Thrane and Shadowdale and 11 on Cormyr.

It's not a dead server like Wayfinder was.

If retention on Cormyr is historically lower that would definitely be problematic for the game. I assume Cormyr is at least growing as in the past the default server has always grown.

We'll have to see what it looks like after server transfers become available. Well if.

Anyone is able to join, Cormyr native or not. It’s just being held on Cormyr. There is three different races each with Otto’s boxes as rewards. 1-30 race> a Max lvl 19 and Under FAVOR race (most favor at the end) > Max lvl 19 and under REAPER point race (most RP at the end) and there is also participation rewards for total points acquired (Point system in detail on event discord server)

I would also love to add, this event is to have our friends among our DDO community to come together and find a break in their usual gameplay.

All of it is for fun (and rewards ;) )

If this event goes well, I will be considering another in the future. With more notice than just 2 months.

If you have any suggestions or interest for the next event; please join the event discord (on the forum page for it (link above)) and let us (event) admins know!

I suspect the main reason for requests to transfer are from people in Europe that committed to Cormyr early and people on Shadowdale/Thrane already that want their Cormyr characters/items/dice/remnant rush rewards moved over.

I personally don't know anyone that moved from Sarlona to Cormyr. There are a few people I know of from Sarlona, but they weren't active community members participating in public raids or lfms as far as I know.

I don't think there will be a mass exodus from Cormyr, but the VIP/fresh start option just didn't attract enough people to make a viable server. So SSG did the right thing making the change even if it frustrated some people.

I hope many new players stay and we start hearing about performance issues on Cormyr at some point.

Yep, iirc it is roughly double the population that the average 32 bit was.

Strategically and for the sake of Asia and Aussie, it would have been better to settle the US-servers in Hawaii.
May be the EU-server in Iceland ? (There is also Santa Cruz in the middle of the Atlantic, but I doubt they have the infrastructure)

I am not sure about the #s, but Shadowdale and Thrane already have performance issues at times with the current population. I do run into people from Asia and Australia on Shadowdale, but it seems like a small % of the population - not enough to offset gains from Cormyr.

The Hawaii idea is interesting, but could be cost-prohibitive.
