all my toons names taken all you have to do is stop ppl from making new toons for 1st week
Wow, that quick? How many names are we talking about that were taken already? Did you make new characters to get the names or did you transfer? Was it literally every name you tried? Could it be there is some sort of error making all the names used on old servers register as taken?

So I have half-a-dozen characters with unique names everyone of them was taken when I logged in the second the update dropped. Names I have had since launch. I am very upset, so I ask what is SSG going to do about this?

To be fair, someone on another [OLD] server may have legit had "your name" also.

Out of curiosity, what names?
I have been enjoying the idea of rushing to get "my name" before the other players using "my name" take "my name". Clearly not "their" name.

I've heard this happening to players on both moonsea and shadowdale - not sure why people think that is fun, but sociopaths just think differently and more cruelly than the rest of us. In some cases it's the character and guild name taken, so quite obviously a troll. That deserves an IP address ban.

It's true, but there are multiple servers, many people could have names for a decade+
As I have said before :) It's why I wish SSG would have followed Turbine's renaming of adding -[server]

**And since I knew they weren't, it's also why I took off work early FOR A GAME! OMG, at least it was worth it today.

This doesn't work since some toons can't be transferred for several days. It will take that long to finish getting up to a level where they can clean out their TR cache, then transfer and immediately TR.

I have to admit, after thinking about it for a little bit, it doesn't surprise me at all. When people post a problem on the forums they get almost nothing but unhelpful responses from argumentative pests. The percentage of D-bags that play DDO appears to be very high (just read the responses to threads). It doesn't surprise me that we have people that would take names just to prevent others from having them.

I have 27 characters (not counting mules) and my wife has a similar number. We were both able to get all of our character names reserved on Shadowdale. They are all unique made up names though, not stuff from fantasy books/movies/etc.

The names are frustrating. I've had mine since Feb 2007. Very hard to believe many people are still playing from then as opposed to after that date.
