Greater Elemental Weapons..does what?

Artificer with a rune arm and a repeating crossbow. I cast Greater Elemental Weapons and the buff pops up in the buff bar.
What has happened? Do I get two extra dice rolled to damage when I fire the arm or shoot crossbow bolts while the buff is running?

per the description of the spell, it adds two imbue dice.

if you are not running an imbue build Deadly Weapons is a better choice.

If you look in t3 battle engineer, you'll see "Thundershock Imbue: Imbue Toggle: Your weapons hum with Electricity, dealing an extra 1d6 Electric damage on each hit, scaling with electric spell power." You need an imbue like that toggled on to use those extra dice.
