Guildship Cosmetics

Here’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. It’s to expand on the airship cosmetics for the wiki (so they can update that section).

So while doing the Lammania snapshots for U73 P2, I remembered to do this too.

So, it's split into 4 sections.

Elemental Ring, Hull Paint, Interior Stain, Sail Cloth.

Blue

Green

Orange-Red

Airship hull paint - i'm doing additional notes so people wanting to do guildship cosmetics, can save DDOP.

Blue

Green

Maple

If you want the washboard effect, that's what the trim is ^ all over. Save the DDOP.

Purple

Brown

Again, like the Maple, just save the DDOP.

Red

Sailcloth - these are the awnings that go over doors, as well as over the Captain area on the larger ships. I've given an example for 'purple'.

Interior stain - I ran all over the Lammania airship I created, and could not see any visible change. This was all floors, cargo hold, top deck, forecastle and rear deck, and saw zero change.

Save your DDOP.

Well Guild Ships need major love, we use those marvelous things just for buffs and few other things.
On top of that, getting over lvl 100 is quite useless (in terms of buffs) we should get some more things to have\do even a guild hall would be cool to hang cosmetic things (that we don't have clearly)
I get that they have limited finances and resources, but they have an amazing art team that could do wonders instead of a lousy paint job.
I'm pretty sure that if we had some new shinies to put on our guild ships, some money could flow tward SSG...

Very nice write-up!

As it stands, I've always looked at guild ship fluff as being way too expensive for what we get. Many examples above of just that.

Bringing out another LOTRO-vs-DDO comparison: Making it possible to visit other players' houses (ships) without a direct ship-invite to browse the decor (and even a toggle to allow use of amenities) would be a start to making ship decoration options a thing. It would take a lot more than some splashes of trim paint, however. Adding deck &/or hold hooks for permanent decor, whether static or usable would be good. Etc.

Booo! I thought you were going to show us the Mind Flayer Nautiloid cosmetic skin on top of our guildship there....

No in all honesty though, this is very helpful and useful. I don't make use of it, but I'm sure some might do. Thanks for the work put in.

This was all one type of airship? I ask because years ago someone came to the old forums to complain that they purchased something for their guildship that was supposed to be red and instead it was pink. Oh I found it : https://forums-old.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/445495-What-have-you-done-to-my-ship-Turbine? So I don't know if they ever fixed it for ALL ships or if some ships' colors are still bugged, that is just because it worked for the ONE ship you tried doesn't mean it will work for every ship properly. If their QC was more solid I would trust checking just one type of ship... but this is DDO... so they lost a lot of my consumer trust over such things many years back.

Also the interior dye not working has been bugged since 2015 at least and they should be ASHAMED if that's even still in the store.

This was all one type of airship?

Yeah, i used the Kraken as the base.

I always advise people that are going to do their own guild to save for the Kraken than anything in between, as there is no discount or savings if you go for a cheaper model; it's full price on each occasion.
