Hardcore Quest Mode

Premise: People have been asking for Hardcore season (Currently unavailable due to the continuing work on lag fixes.) People have been asking for "Reaper lv 11". People have been asking for "More of a challenge". People have been saying the grouping aspect of The Lanterns in the Mist event with normal and hardcore wasn't the same as regular Hardcore.

I had an idea spark and decided to write out a quick suggestion. This is a take it, Leave it, run with it or improve it suggestion.

Add a button along with display on LFM ect that turns the quest into "Hardcore Mode" the result of which
1. Time Limit for entering the quest/wilderness (similar to certain challenges),
2. When you die in the quest/wilderness your toon will be booted to the "Lost Souls" area with either a time limit before being released (think 3-7 days) or your toon will be "flagged" for having to be respecced at level one.
3. Not sure if this should be added but: No Hirelings in Hardcore mode. (Maybe/Maybe not.)

No TR or anything just same toon starting at lv 1 again.

There could also be a tracker/reward for "Hardcore quests completed".

Any suggestions will be evaluated and stolen/updated.

Something like this could work but they would need to create some kind of incentive to do it.

The lanterns was like that—you had it equipped so it affected the experience of the quest (the event mobs showing up). You advanced the lantern.

The challenge for the devs is that players will quickly figure out which quests to cheese for the benefits of some mechanic like this and then need to nerf it too late after some nutcases have exploited it. (This happened with reaper difficulty rollout, causing a dev reaction to trash one of the finest quests in the game, Sealed in Amber.)

The lantern event has come and gone so i think its okay to discuss how some had previously exploited something because it is not currently a game exploit.

I have heard runors that at the start of the event some people had used an exploit, but i thought they caught those people and stripped them of yheir lanterns.
