Hardcore Season 9 begins in Dec

Oh it is the softcore season redux. Oh well will still do regardless that I consider it as 2nd worst HC (the anti irl hounds obviously first).
+4 lockout seems quite high, I doubt they would change that. I think my preference is +3 to help with grouping versus +2.

I loved the hounds it made life miserable for the multiboxers watched one guy with 5 characters all named similar lose 4 of then in a row in less than 40 seconds, he must have been fighting with his main when the hound showed up at the entrance with all his buffbot piking alts. I laughed almost as hard as when someone sent me a link to a short video of Rimstrom getting annilated in tempest spine legendary during one of his streaming feeds. That one ☝️ had to stop gaming for a brief bit to watch it over and over, its the only time i ever watched anything of his and it wasnt his stream.

I hope they come up with something in hardcore 10 to again make it miserable for multiboxers!

I loved the hounds. They kept you on your toes and enhanced the sense of immediacy.

Just for the record: players who know the game a bit more and after the bug with the spawning dogs where you could not kill them but get the dots (for example necro swimming), the dogs were not a safe death anymore. My buff bard got her reaper cloak too.. so death for buffers/pikers werent the problem. (Sadly some people have still fun when they see them die. I dont get it. Did the twink accounts really cut their fun?!)
BUT i too loved the dog mechanics for the thrill and the (semi) randomness! But not for others to kill their *buffbards, loottwinks etc.
Just my 2 cents.

hounds minus the bugs with them was the best challenge of hardcore ever and was the most exciting they just needed to fix the bugs!

Oh it definitely hurt the multiboxers, not onoy did i witness it, i watched people complain in guild chat. Was glad to see people lose their buff bards when multiboxing, maybe the could correct for future hardcores just let everyone have an item called a bard stone and we all can run around with the silly overpowered bard buffs.

Of course my main that season ran with a ship bought in game with platinum(not ddo points/cash) and i refuse to use teleport/word of recall/alt f4, also things i wouod like to see banned from hardcore.

I guess you can be proud of your quest entrance standing piker buffbard getting a reaper cloak, but i was very content to get my cloak and my horse in the hound season.

buff bards should be eliminated in hardcore. you want a buff bard invite a real player into a group otherwise do without that would maybe encourage more grouping or force people to take on the challenge actually solo.

Yes... also trappers... and tanks... and any sort of crowd control... and well you get the idea.

Everyone should be forced to "take on the challenge actually solo". None of that working together as a team stuff. Indeed, once we've eliminated all the useful character types to team with we'd be left with... well, nothing.

Lol or we could have a vendor in hardcore that sells a consumable cookie that grants all the level appropriate buffs that would equate to what a multi boxing buff bard piker build would get, problem solved.

Lol not that it is needed, hardcore is really just softcore, the hounds were perfect for killing multiboxer and was and when a redux comes around will still be my favourite hardcore. The best part was when a multiboxer lost all the alts he actually had to eat humble pie and beg others to help them.

Not sure what's the problem against multiboxers in general if they're playing according to the rules and not violating any TOS...
(will it cause a bit more load or a lot? can't say for sure, but if it Does cause waaaayy too much load/Lag, then SSG will prolly likely disallow this style of play)
it's like DDO's way of allowing people who like the gamestyle of Baulder's Gate where a player can control multiple characters in a party to go on Adventures and questing...

Also if we think about it, when Fantasy books Authors write their stories, it's usually one Author directing/controlling the lives of many of the characters in the book

of course in some scenarios, the strategies and tactics of multi-boxing doesn't work so well e.g. in some HardCore seasons, but then people can just switch up in those scenarios (either don't multibox in those cases or figure something else out), just like oh your party or your characters gotta switch to different spells or tactics when encountering beholders or monsters NPCs that have different abilities/defenses

While im also more excited for HC 10 and hope for something really challenging, im also glad that they are making this redux so easy this time.
Its the first and probably last season that i will play with my wife. The 3k and multiple lives is something that makes people who are casual players give it a try. And also she likes the look of the horse, so im glad for her.

But, i seriously desire 10th season to offer something for the opposite side of the spectrum. For example, let me talk to some NPC that will cast on me permanent Vecna debuffs. And i want to all players around me to see it.

Yes i want to brag, i want to show i can go hard and yes i want people to laugh at me when/if i fail miserably. And if i succeed i want a great cosmetic reward.

Let me take a debuff that will cast a bloody crown on top of my head and lower all my stats by 30 percent or whatever. And when people see me die i want them to point fingers and say look at that dumbo thinking he is better than us. And if i reach the achievements i want people to say, dam he did it with a debuff, what a chad.

Just give me something that is exciting and create drama.. no more "hunting" treasures on normal difficulty please.

I think he is just trolling. The Number one reason i play HC is for the grouping aspect. At the moment i'm poking my feet in live, but the experience is quite terrible, I think I've grouped twice/Three times all the time I've been back (I've had LFM's up but due to the following factors, the playerbase is not as big as it used to be and is split up between multiple servers also the servers are further diluted due to the level range of the game (i.e 1-32).

Really looking forward to this season, not long to wait. I'm also glad its +4 as it makes grouping easier (i really only run quests at level on elite, but its nice that more people can join more group)

sad about getting extra lives as i think thats not what hardcore is about but still always ready to play hardcore!
Do bear in mind that when the original Season 3 (which this is a redux of) launched, it was the first time non-VIP players were allowed access to the server. The ability to earn extra lives was largely a catch-up measure to give non-VIP players a chance against existing VIPs who had two season's worth of prior experience.
