Healer stuff!!

Please make more stuff for healers. Feats, races, anything.

Currently, we have:
Empowered Healing metamagic
Scion of Celestia
Fount of Life
Epic Spell Power: Positive

That's it. Everything else - literally - is either generic tanky feats or generic caster feats that casters take in Heroic/Epics/Legendary. The deity feats we have unyielding sovereign and undying call which are popular, but also not available for iconics.

There is no iconic deity or iconic race that is well suited for healers other than PDK - which also requires going Charisma based, splashing fighter or using hearts and acquiring rose colored goggles to make the most of. The two iconics that can start as races capable of healing - Morninglord and Scoundrel - do just about nothing healing related and in fact can even make you squishier due to -2 con starting stat and force giving up any decent healing deity.

There are no races specifically suitable for healing. Best we have is healing amplification in racial trees and generic tanky stuff.

Can we have a developer in the team play healer for a bit and design from that point of view for a little bit?
-------

Suggestions for healer feats, and the reason my suggestions are tied to positive spell power rather than character level is to make it so that people that don't care or invest in healing would just do the same job but better with no investment.

- Legendary Empowered Healing metamagic: while this is on, your affected spells apply a Temporary HP guard on affected friendly targets equal to 30% of your Positive Spell Power. Internal cooldown of 1 seconds. Increases spell cost of spells by 20.

- Legendary Guardian Angel: When you heal a target below 50%, for thirty seconds they gain PRR equal to your Wisdom modifier for 30 seconds.

- Heroic/Epic/Legendary Positive Power: your Caster Level with positive spells is increased by 1/2/3.

- Legendary Wellspring of Power: When you acquire this feat, Wellspring of Power now also applies to your party members.

Throw us a bone please.

Legendary Empowered Healing and Legendary Guardian Angel are both dope ideas. A little strong to give them 60prr for 30 seconds. I would say probably 20 seconds with a 90 second cooldown.

Yeah, the feat itself has a 180 second cooldown so I figured that'd be included - but lesser cd and wisdom modifier (which I edited) would also work.

There's 2 sources of temp HP that can be applied to heal casts via heroic trees: alch's Soothing Poultices & Warlock's Feigned Health. Alch's is straight out of their healing tree, but scales poorly at high levels. I don't think SSG needs to give every healer temp HP on heals, but it'd be nice if they made alch's actually scale up better and a core part of the alch healing style. Alch vials are slow to travel, applying temp HP would give a wider window for the next vial to land (and help for those times a vial spins off into the void and doesn't land at all). Alch's temp HP is less than what 1 stack of the regular strength of arms feat brings to table...

Yeah, the older sources are quite outdated at this point and it'd be nice to have some scaling function in them. Alchemist healers in general are very poorly suited for actual healing - they're best served as a splash class for other actually decent healing classes like divines and druids. Apothecary and the way healing vials behave would require a colossal rework to be considered as a viable option beyond splashing IMO.
----
Also, if anyone has ideas for what they feel like healing gameplay is lacking/missing and would like added, don't feel shy of contributing here for healer-related ideas.

I think healing is really fun and healers still play an important part in cap play - but I do feel like they've been heavily left by the wayside in the design department outside Epic Destinies. This applies to any sort of supportive playstyles: we don't have a lot that amplified the play of others in the feat department. Most of it happens in the enhancement trees and epic destiny trees.

The problem is the game is unbalanced. Especially, now that they introduced temporary hit points with Strength of Arms--it makes my job less viable. I still sleep 90% of the time unless it's raid pushing because most people just don't need heals and if they do, it's covered by either temporary hit points or hitting their Primal Scream/Rage for a full heal.

I want them to add vial smash versions of all the alch cure/heals spells. It would give an alternative cast choice to chucking vials. With a smash, the heals would always land and could be quickened, at the risk/reward trade-off of having to be in close range. It'd give apothecary alchs an interesting playstyle dynamic (toss a vial at range & deal with the slow vial travel speed or move into melee range and smash).

I also want heal admixture spell to be given to artificer. Either as a default spell or via the masteramaker tree. The spell didn't exist when artis were created, but it's the kind of thing their tanky/healer tree should get.

Yeah... I've also started to include debuffing into my healing playstyles rather than focusing on healing - my fvs healer is snapshotting less often used LGS debuffs on my archon and I play more like a tank than a healer - diving in, intimidating, cc'ing with salt/clouds than doing any actual healing because preventing damage taken and boosting others is infinitely better than just waiting for healing oppourtunities to happen.

I think healers should have more ways to amplify friendlies in general even outside recovering hitpoints, whatever way that happens I'd be super happy to see.
