I also think that SSG could make Arcane Pulse, Hellball, and Spirit Blades into SLAs. And even then Hellball would be bad, and Spirit Blades probably forgettable.

Turning them into SLAs doesn't solve anything. The problem with these abilities is that they do low damage, and a SLA does nothing to improve that. All it would do is make them cheaper in spell points to cast, but it wouldn't solve the real problem. And if the developers increase their cooldown with the excuse that they're SLAs, they'll totally kill them.

I prefer them as spells, but they need to do more damage. And if they're spells, they should be affected by cooldown reductions, which isn't the case with all of them. And this includes ruins, too.

And how long has it been since we've seen a single crit increase i know the bottom 3 really need those

Less than then, I think. Stat squish was more punishing for spells than for weapons. We went from having a very good crit chance to having a low chance. And then they removed sources of critical chance like those provided by tieflings or EDs and turned them into critical damage.

And meanwhile, items that give universal bonuses to crit and spellpower (potency, spell lore, etc.) continue to be HALF the amount of those for specific lores/SP. Do the devs know how huge a difference half is? Those items should give 90%.

And then there's filigrees and elements when ice wins every single time with the best cc and crits why bother with anything else

Maybe with these new magmas that could change finally but the other elements need a boost or remove the 5 ice

A 10 crit increase for the other elements to off set the ice cc advantage seems fair something like that

Changing the end game to offset a poorly designed spell caster mechanic will only result in all of this (nerf / rebuff cycle) happening again in a few years. It's far better to correct the system at its most basic level, and then rebase the end game from that.

Fixing 4 filigree sets to give 10 crits seems like what this dev team can handle for code work

Somebody let me know if I'm wrong . . . but with a 12 second cool down the Damage/Second on the Dragon Breath is WORSE than a level 2 Scorch spell with it's 1 second cool down.

Jokes aside, I think that was sorta the theory of Bolt spells, cheap filler DPS esp for like bossing - but they need considerably more scaling if that's to be the case, esp given their terrible flight path.

If it is DPS we are talking about, Energy Vortex which is the DPS strike went up in power when they made it cast without a target.

If it is burst we are talking about, yes, burst was nerfed.
