Heroic True Heart of F-This

So how about a true heart that puts you back to level 1 (or level 15 if you want to go iconic next life) with no past life feat awarded but can be used at any time? For example, you are six levels into a build and you just don't like it and dread having to push to 20 (or 30 if iconic) for whatever reason. You can use this heart at any level to restart but lose all your XP/ progress and no past life feat. This goes beyond lesser reincarnation because you can respec race, alignment, etc. Win-win - players get another option and SSG can sell it in the store. I know I plan every life very carefully because I'm going to be stuck with it for a while. With this option I could take a more wing-it / try it out approach to try things on my main. Of course this is probably not for zergers that TR every three days but for most folks that are "stuck" with our build choices for a while this could be a nice "this sucks" way out....

Technically that's what the +(number) Hearts are for.

Refardless, I'm not a big fan of the convoluted TR / ETR process. It simply takes too much time, for something that should of been automated. Not that what "we" really matters when the DDO store profits from the inconvenience of its players.

Yes - I agree - 90% of the time you'd probably prefer to use a +X lesser heart in order to keep your XP progress. But let's say you're multiclassing and you start with a rogue level for the skill points planning to then go paladin but - ooops - you forgot to go lawful good at level 1. Now you're stuck...

I have several builds that are mules because I f'd up at creation.

For example a while back i wanted a ranged character and I solo a lot so I always get aggro and the groups of mobs just rush me. So I thought that I'd go Shadar-Kai for the chains (chance to knock enemies and it's an AOE attack) not knowing they changed them to be based of your main hand weapon and only work if you use a 1 handed melee weapon in your main hand.

Needles to say that it didn't work as I thought and that the character would have been better with another race. Since it's Iconic I have to level to 30 with it and I just don't want to. I don't want to delete it either since I have used stat tomes on that char and it have 1 or 2 past lives already.

This idea would allow me to redo the choices I made and make a character I actually want to play. One more thing I don't want to use + hearts either since I would have to use several to make that Shadar-Kai into something I want to play (won't be ranged).

That's why the character planner is useful.
It would be neat to be able to manually or automatically "load" a build into the character creation screen at level 1 and just have those choices made automatically for you. Would be nice for new players especially

It would be a cool idea. Problem is, I almost always tweak at least the Enhancements or the order in which I take same when I actually play the build. But for everything else (stats, skills, feats, spells), that'd be awesome. It would reduce the time spent leveling considerably. There'd still be the need to run to the trainer and the need to swap gear as required, but not having to refer to your build plan to pick feats and skills would definitely save some time and annoyance. Could work like the premade builds where it asks confirmation that you're still following your build plan, and at any time you can opt out and do the leveling manually from then on.

I just experienced this.

I needed to TR into my final Sorcerer life, so I figured I would run the new Wild Mage. I actually waited until it became available.
I logged in; Discovered that there was NO toggle to turn off that annoying overhead notification; I waited the three days, since I already had a heart, and TR'd back into my next Sorcerer (an Air Sorc).

I have a Dragonlord stuck at 15 with the same problem. No toggle to turn off the ground effects. He's a mule now waiting for them to implement an on/off toggle.

I would love to try their new stuff but without giving us players the option of turning it on or off, I'd rather not be distracted; so they become mules until I can TR them.
