Heya folkes,

Summer is here, as some know I play a bit less during summer due to the fact that my wife and I own a restaurant in Medicine Hat, Alberta called Moose and Squirrel Bistro. It's seasonal and well.. this is the season where I grind. What most folkes don't know is that I also run the kitchen for Hell's Basement Brewery in the same city.. so yeah.. I manage 2 kitchens.

I chef a lot.. lol.

This means during the summer I game less.

If anyone is curious check me out on instagram, I'm "Xoetepia6" .. duh lol

This week I added 2 more murals to Moose.. I've had AZSkills from England play my place. last year. This year I have many interesting artists and acts playing.. phenomenal dj's, musicians and artists.. so if you ever want to have one of the best burgers in your life or just want a great bevy.. come to Alberta and see what I built with my 2 hands.

I'll still be in game but a bit less then normal.

And yes the photo of that guy in full skull face is me.. that was me last Halloween.. the woman is my beautiful wife. I've known her for 30 years. The reason why I'm a chef at 53..

Hell yes, we are almost booked for the whole season with bands and djs.. medicine hat is a chill city and a great road trip destination.

Well.. guess what????

I'm going to be on a LOT more.. sort of.

After 9 weeks of constant rain, and the Dumb A$$ City Council, planning poorly the downtown core is basically shut down. Our customers cant get through.. and all of the restaurants and businesses saw a 40% plus drop in business.. for me and my wife.. it's enough. So we closed both restaurants.. selling and going back into the private sector.. she is going politics and gov't me something stressless.. cuz I'm old and I don't want to deal with the drama anymore. lol

Anyhow.. I am officially retiring from being a 110 work week chef and owner.. done done done..

Yeah.. we shut down our business. Both businesses. Between a poorly managed tourism sector and a city council that doesn't care about the downtown industry.. we decided to not invest more money. Brutal year.

Anyhow, I had 2 really good interviews with an international firm, pays ok.. great benefits and I only work 8 to 4:30 Monday to Friday... which allows me to focus on my bodybuilding, my personal life.. and gaming woot.

Funny part is.. now that I'm not pulling 100 hour work weeks, I've been sleeping like 13 hours a day.. or so.. which is SO nice.

No joke, i was just hired to a new job and thats why we bought the car here hahah we are looking into road trip options, unfortunately Jasper is kinda tbd now :(

Its definitely on the list and i want to know the province more Just putting things into order now, car, insurance (first year, that hurt a lot), etc

Alberta is nice, it's beautiful tbh.. but if you have never been to Vancouver Island.. that's a better choice. Look up Tofino/Long Beach, Cathedral Grove, Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew, Gold Stream Park.. Victoria, Nanaimo and you got a great 1 week vacation. Start in Victoria for 2 maybe 3 days.. rent a car and end up in Tofino. You won't regret it..

As someone whos living in alberta, and was in BC 15 years ago as a tourist, hes right. But Alberta has BEAUTIFUL places, Banff and region + Jasper (which right now, is kinda in a sad state because it has been partially destroyed by wild fires) - These are 2 only of many, in BC you probably will find more things to do, closer in a short span of time.

I love Alberta.. you know how Canadians harp on other provinces where they don't reside as redneck or hippy trash.. and coming from BC I've really grown to appreciate the diversity of alberta.. from the prong horns and porcupines to the great parks, Alberta is a gem.. then you have Moose Jaw in Sask.. great city to visit.

I really love Medicine Hat..

Anyhow, this might be my worst year of my life.. not only did I lose $500k due to inflation, politics and changing demographics, I just tore my Achilles Tendon... lol..

So yeah I'll be gaming hella lot if tge orthopedic surgeon has to operate! I find out Tuesday..

Ouch, good luck xoe, i made my first trip to hospital last week, well, whole day but at least i didnt stay too long (12hrs), hope you got a positive outcome (surgery soon!)
