Hotbar key not responding

When I press my 2 key, it doesn't work if I move, stop, then press it.
I have to move and press it while moving for it to work. First time this happened to me.
VERY inconvenient because 2 key is one of the most used hotkeys. There are barely enough hotbar slots as it is.

This happened to me before but it was when I was moving, i couldn't press a key and move at the same time.
Now I can't press it when Im standing still after moving and stopping.

Anyone know what's causing this?

PS: I am using a stormsinger.

Does it mouse click just fine?

Got another keyboard laying around to check to see if your keyboard is failing? And/or try running a word processor and try holding down keys like you do in-game and see if 2 fails to occasionally register.

My keyboard is working properly with the word processor

When I click the hotbar with my mouse, it works.

Have you accidentally selected the wrong hotbar by accident?

It's very easy for a moment when pressing ctrl and then using the mouse scroll wheel and accidentally moving it to a different hotbar which the 2 button would do nothing on.

I tried switching my hotbar 1 with hotbar 10. I made hotbar 10 have 1234567890.

Same issue. Number 2 is still not pressing if pressed after another button. (unless moving)

Given you have said that it works fine when not in DDO. And the in game click of the hotbar is fine when using a mouse. It's unlikely to be DDO itself that's the issue.

It sounds more like you have some other software that is running that is causing the problem hence why you need the combination of moving foward and pressing button 2.

What keyboard is it? Does it come with its own update software? Have you edited the buttons before via such software or alternatives? And are you running any other macro or overlay software at the same time? Do you have alternative keyboard options enabled in Windows?

Just thought of something, can you enable auto-run (normally the R key) and then press 2? Does it work then or still no?

Jumping before pressing 2 button allows it to work, similar to how moving allows it to work.

And just to check, this issue happens regardless of what ability you put in the hotbar location?

Yes, even if it's blank.

While I was testing changing my hotkeys, I found myself in the position where I had to input a key. I could not input 2, so I pressed Escape. Escape didn't work either. I got out of it by inputting another key. This is how I knew that Escape also didn't work along with 2.

You might try backing up DDO.keymap in your documents>dungeons and dragons online folder (and delete the file from that location) and let the game rebuild it. See if things play nice then. If they don't, restore your backup; if the fresh file works then you'll know there's something going on with an in-game keybinding. (I doubt this will matter, but just ticking off the boxes of things to rule out)

I've had this happen with my 6 key, during weird button mashing scenarios. Unplugging the mouse from USB and plugging back in clears it up. Might not be the same issue, worth a try.
