How are the Repeater Changes feeling these days?

Hi All

Thinking of coming back for my annual "well I'll play for a month or so" time.

Last year (pre Repeater changes) was my first time trying artificers. And had some of the most fun levelling/ playing a class solo since the game came out. (Yes I have been playing that long, but I take a lot of really long breaks)

AS the title suggests, curious as to how the repeater changes have effected ranged Artis , I understand (iirc) it was theorized it was going to make levelling worse, but a bit of a damage boost for boss fights at endgame. IS that what's happened? Repeaters still viable to level or is Inquisitive the way to level now? (Or something else)

Honestly I figured I'd come back and here would be a ton of rants one way or the other about in this subforum, but not seeing anything. (Or I'm blind, always a possibility)

Thanks for any information/ experience with the changes you're willing to share!

Autoattacks feel clunkier (though maybe less so if the previous cadence isn't fresh in your mind)

If you splash inquis for shoot first you have a metric poopton of triple-aoe-shots (6 second cooldown, 12 second cooldown, 12 second cooldown) which can let you round things up and aoe the room down like a caster.

And inquis is apparently more obscene that it ever was, especially at the top.

Thanks!

Never liked inquisitor for whatever reason, but maybe I'll give it another shot.

Not that big of a fan of inquisitor myself. To me, it feels much worse, but does perform better later on (lower leveling is rougher though).

Did you ever play artificers back when you needed to click to reload then click again to fire? It's kinda like that, only now you reload AFTER you fire meaning you're animation-stuck which is teribad if you try to cast a spell or do something after firing. The old I'll pew pew pew then blast rod them is over.

With that in mind, it's still killing everything easily with one volley early on and it's doing ~ double damage at end game if you like piano playing. The middle ground can be annoying.

Inquisitor feels exactly the same. It also seems to be doing WAY more damage at end game, not as much as repeaters but it's way better in between.

So pew pew pew 1-11 and 30-34, inquisitor 12-29? There will be a nerf hammer incoming for sure.

Really? For me it seems so ridiculously slow that it is borderline painful especially during levelling. But hey ho...

@ OP - Repeater Arti is in a good place I think, early levels are painful though due to the stupid slow reload animation. Once you pick up the AoE's from Battle Engineer then things ramp up significantly! You will clear rooms in 3 buttons or less.

Were you artie inquisitor or something something inquisitor while leveling up? Because I actually felt inquisitor to feel way faster than repeater at 20 onwards specifically. I'm not a piano player myself so I didn't go that route.

1 Arti, 9 Ranger atm due to past life grinding.

Overall an Arti is really smooth to level. Arti til 15, then Inq til 29, swap back to Arti for end game. I felt that questing acted a bit worse since the last change but raiding way up. the AOE attacks are great and fun, when they work, but that isn´t an Arti issue only...
