How Can you Save Graphic Settings??????

It is very annoying that every time I log on I have to redo my graphic settings. Is there something I am missing? Come on game devs if you can not easily save settings this really should be addressed.

What graphic settings are you having trouble with? Whenever I change my resolution, window size, etc it seems to stick after logout for me. It could be something wrong with your config files not being able to be saved?

What's your operating system? What version? Is it windows protected folders? Does the game have permission to write files there? Are you launching the game too fast too much and it's overwriting your userpreferences.ini file?

Are you running onedrive? It'll cause your userpref file to get removed unless you either turn onedrive off or make exceptions for the DDO folder in your documents folder.

Need to take a deeper look @ the .ini file at some point (any good tweaks in there?), but yes I changed my gamma setting there and now its much stickier. (y)

Make sure your DDO folder in /mydocuments is not write protected. Sometimes windows does that and then DDO can not save the settings.

I had constant issues with both graphics and audio settings resetting upon login since coming back to the game in 2020. This ceased completely when I made that .ini read-only. It changed my gaming experience from the usual act of login frustration (e.g. Sometimes audio would be disabled, unable to re-enable without quitting the game and logging again! Gamma would be reset to 1.0 , every login.)

I did the following:

1. Delete the UserPreferences.ini file in folder <Drive>:\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online.
2. Login (DDO creates a new UserPreferences.ini file upon login).
3. Open the Options UI (Ctrl+O) and change any settings as desired.
4. Hit the 'Close' button on the options UI panel, rather than 'X'ing out of the window (the 'Close' button seems to be what causes DDO to update the .ini file).
5. With the game still up and running, make UserPreferences.ini file in folder <Drive>:\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online read-only.

Simple fix. I've been using the read-only .ini file for the past month without any of the usual 'settings changed upon login' issues that I had for years. No audio issues, no gamma issues, no nonsense with changed settings at all.

If there is something that you find that you'd like to change after you make the file read-only:

1. Login.
2. With the game up and running, make UserPreferences.ini file in folder <Drive>:\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online writable.
3. Open the Options UI (Ctrl+O) and change any settings as desired.
4. Hit the 'Close' button on the options UI panel, rather than 'X'ing out of the window.
5. With the game still up and running, once again make UserPreferences.ini file in folder <Drive>:\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online read-only.

Again, simple fix. I've done this a couple of times after finding that I didn't like some of the new things that I set when I originally did the setup that I detailed above.
