Um, sorry to contradict you, but reading the post that you are responding to, you are missing the entire point of what was written. magnumaniac said that "they only keep the latest / current Sales and Bonus Days info in the launcher to avoid confusion. You are not going to find a weeks old bonus details in the launcher now". If you hold left click down while mousing through the text, it will highlight the text which may help to more accurately parse what was being written and help you avoid coming off as high and mighty over something you are missing the point on. You can also hold your finger over your monitor to trace each word one by one and move your hand left to right, if that makes it easier to understand. Internet 101 simplicityUm, sorry to contradict you but there is information in the DDO Launcher from as far back as June of this year. Just like a browser window, the small information window in the bottom right of the DDO Launcher has a side scroll bar and button. Left click and hold that button and you can slide all the way back to June of this year. Or just left click in the information window of the Launcher and then use the Page Up and Page Down keys. Well, they could maybe increase the size of that info window and the font size of these news, so that people not looking through a microscope can actually read it.OMG, check the launcher each day before you log in! How absolutely LAZY are the players that load in the launcher but do not check it for recent news before logging into the game?!?
I pretty much always look at what is in that feed, and I honestly did not catch that Champion Hunter week was in there. I also do not really believe that it was in there and later removed. If that were the case, why not remove everything that is no longer relevant.Well, they could maybe increase the size of that info window and the font size of these news, so that people not looking through a microscope can actually read it.
That whole launcher is about as big as a credit card on my monitor and it can´t be resized.
It was in the launcher. All you're doing is telling us you didn't read it. That's a user error not an SSG error.I would have expected an announcement like that in the DDO Launcher
I do in fact read it, and still I didn't catch it. I am not the only one even, so at least it wasn't obvious and to be honest I don't think it was in there. It was in the launcher. All you're doing is telling us you didn't read it. That's a user error not an SSG error.
IF you read it .... you should have comprehended what it was sating. It was there. Its a user problem. And the few who dont pay attention now want SSG to do something to fix the lack of attention. Take this as a learning lesson and read and comprehend the update info.I do in fact read it, and still I didn't catch it. I haven't heard the first person in three pages say they read it in the launcher notes. So there's that too.
Well that is a pretty snarky comment. Have you considered that person meant he never saw the post despite normally reading the announcements? Sometimes more than one post comes across and it takes a bit of scrolling to do. Also what about those that do not log everyday?IF you read it .... you should have comprehended what it was sating. All flasks are on the same timer for each toon.Yeah, I saw on the launcher about champion week. I had no idea what it was so I typed it into google and found the info and I immediately ran and bought a Deathward Flask. My question is, can I buy another next time or are they on the same timer?
The fact that there were quite a few users who missed it this time around despite waiting for it and following the news in the launcher, suggests that the info could have been edited / presented in a better manner.IF you read it .... you should have comprehended what it was sating. It was there. Its a user problem. And the few who dont pay attention now want SSG to do something to fix the lack of attention. Take this as a learning lesson and read and comprehend the update info.
If only DDO had some way to get information out...

Rapidfox has gone to great lengths to help those who must run at 4K to upscale and be able to read the text. So if you have text you cant read go search for Rapidfox and upscaling. There is a great thread on this.Just to play devils advocate a little... If you're using a 4K monitor and trying to read the launcher... good luck!
The problem with DDO is that information seems to be elusive even when it is posted. I usually check the "Staff Tracker" tab to make sure I don't miss anything, but I default to the "What's New" tab. I wonder if Cordovan could make stickies in the What's New area so they stayed up at the top?
You think people are going to find Rabidfox's thread when they can't even find an announcement?!?Rapidfox has gone to great lengths to help those who must run at 4K to upscale and be able to read the text. but older announcements do get cleared, that is why there is a short scroll back to June.Um, sorry to contradict you but there is information in the DDO Launcher from as far back as June of this year.
