How do I get the latern mount fast because all the ice caps are melting and I have nothing so far

I have been playing Lanterns of the Mist just to get the mount since the beginning and I am not even halfway. Most of the time I run an adventure and I don't get a mist stalker unless I go back to the entrance and sometimes I forget. Wilderness areas are extremely rare, ugh. The pace is maddening. Then, I see some post of someone getting a mount in a week! What is up with this scenario? What am I missing? Are there a tricks? Yes, I play the restrictions and I do keep track of the points to ensure I am getting the points.

Get to level 20 and join one of the many LFMs posted daily farming Mists in Into the Mists on R1. It is SUPER boring but effective. I would run it til chest ransack each life then move along but to each their own.

What type of toon are you using?
If it is ranged, are you close enough for when the mist encounter s killed?
What difficulty are you running on?

There is something off about Drossheart and Igan
Dunno, I started when F2P was opened up on Cormyr. In 2 weeks I leveled normal like to 26 and was able to turn in my kitty lantern. That including forgetting to wait for the mist to spawn a bunch of times and exiting the quest too early, along with my lantern durability capping a couple times.

Never got an Explorer's Hat, Bottle o' Rum, and Powder-Packed Barrel (head cannon it's a mini keg), so I didn't even get to earn my kitty in style 😭 was only 2/5s murder hobo.

Farm Tavern Brawl as high level possible and highest difficulty you can manage. Run it until your eyes bleed. Then do the same with into the mists quest. Don't finish out....You need to wait around after quest completion for a stalker to appear. Kill it and repeat. Getting a full group helps.

I took my time and eventually filled the lantern, but I just wanted to experience the quests on the new server more than I wanted to fill the lantern.

Ranged toon and I am on top of the mist encounter the whole time. I get points when I kill but I do not get the encounters. The encounters are not showing up as dictated. 15 kills and I don't see anything and I complete the mission and adios. I try to hang out an extra 5-10 minutes running around and still nothing.

I am also enjoying the new 64bit but other people said they got the mount in 1 week! C'mon! There is a trick to this I guess.

Just run quests on whatever difficulty you are comfortable with. At lower levels you will have to wait more for mists - and should definitely wait. It's not necessary to move to the front, but if waiting I usually try to be in a nice open area as I've had a few things stuck in walls and untargetable.

Farming quests:

Level 5: Protect Baudry Interest to 600 (wait until quest is done to kill stuff- good for netflix binging)
Level 12 or 13: Into the mists to 900
Level 16 or 17: Tavern Brawl to 1200
Level 24: Impossible Demands to 1425
Level 25: The Friar's Niece to 1500 (arguably you can skip impossible demands and just do this one as you are typically at really good strength at 26 to run 23s.

Length of time you wait for lantern starts at 10 kills and seems to depend on ddo's quest length tag which for some quests like house of rusted chains does not match player experience. When farming you want a quest that is short with at least 10 kills so in impossible demands you have to kill more than just the main room.

Arguably if you start out with 600 count at level 5 it's pretty much impossible not to fill your lantern by 25. That takes a few hours of mostly just waiting for quest to finish.

The people farming are mostly people going for skull lanterns with less risk. You can also do this if you just find the mist enemies too difficult and want to farm at a lower difficulty than you normally run quests - e.g., at epic levels where head of the beast is over-tuned compared to legendary levels. Some just zerg to legendary and focus on lantern there where it seems much easier than epic levels.

they said it like 10 times:) groups.

but, in Groups ..i wager some players feel stuck to the keyboard and a fun relaxing game becomes frantic, rushed,... and boring at the same time.

yea i wont grind events that I can't do casually. Just on new server for favor.

You already got some good answers.
I did one of my lanterns:

Level 5 Bringing the light
Level 10 prequest of xorian cipher
Level 15 Book burning

Epic (the Mists are a bit tougher in epics)
Level 24 treasure hunt
Level 26 the friars nice (first quest of catacombs)

I ran the quest till its finished (with the race human for DimDoor), go to the start and waited for the mists to spawn..

Yes!! Definitly extrem grindy that way, but..

Have „fun“ !

Another mid-heroic level spot.

Gateway To Khyber (The entry area to Jungle Of Khyber) Base level 9.

Casually soloing a mount lantern seems doable, but it does go slow. I just started when Cormyr opened to non-VIP and currently character level 12, lantern 1161.

You run the quest, and if it doesn't spawn you wait at the end until it does. I just hit 1200/2000 and I've not been playing much. I think elite and reaper give more XP, too. The lantern also will not level anymore if you are below a certain level, so make sure that doesn't happen. Don't TR until its full. Because then you can't fill it until you are 20 again.

Super boring yes, but. Even with ransack, if you only care about durability, Mist r1 farm forever. You can get the rewards in just a few days if you really stick to it, but you wont want to run Mists for a while afterwards

P.S. To clarify for Gholahayt, you will end up completing the quest before Mist Stalker appears, so you will need to stand around near the end chest. Doesnt always take long to spawn but, the standing around waiting is what makes it boring
