I'm sorry but I am unclear what you are asking?
1) Are you talking about when you die in reaper the fact that if you release you will not be able to get back in the quest?
---- If so: Why are you releasing ever? When running with others, I have always found the community more than willing to carry a stone to a shrine or even just cast raise dead with a scroll or use ressurrection spells as needed. Just be patient and call it out in chat. When not running with others, that is a different story with lots of variables but long story short turn the difficulty down if you find you are dying a lot solo.
2) Are you talking about the death timer in reaper mode? Do you mean to say that you are immediately trying to pop a Cake or Jibbers and thus you are wasting that resource due to the death timer preventing it from functioning?
---- If so: I understand the feeling of wanting to not just sit there in spirit form watching as your fellows continue the struggle. It took me about 6 months before I trained myself to to look for the indicator above a dead friends head to see if they were on timer. Even then sometimes it doesn't show until you try to rez them, thus wasting precious seconds and SP. Now I am in the habit of hitting "Z" when I have them selected to check if they have a timer. Unless they have already called it out in chat. The action you should take is once again Just be patient and call it out in chat.
In summary - Whenever you die, take a few seconds to take a breather. Remove your hands from the keyboard and mouse. Give them a good stretch. Fix your posture. Then take stock of your situation. Look at your debuff bar. Select a friend or two and "Z" them. Call out your timer and then "Z" some enemies to see of there is anything on them that can be dealt with by someone alive. You don't have to be fast. Better to be sure and have the information than to call out something bad.
Last but not least - If none of this is what you were talking about, please explain.
