How do you prefer to build a Stormsinger for cap play?

I am curious how others build their Stormsingers for cap play (raids and R10s).

I prefer

41 Spellsinger (Mass Hold and Heal), 31 Stormsinger, 7 Falconry (runspeed boost) and 18 Dragonborn (caster levels and wings)
I would have loved going full in Stormsinger but I simply cannot make do without Mass Hold. Also, I love having wings and runspeed boost to be able to keep up and to escape a bad situation.

36 Fatesinger (amazing tree for bards), 23 Dragonic (Dragon Breath) and 14 Shadowdancer (evasion and immunity to energy drain).
I would have loved Primal as well.

I prefer to go a bit of feydark on my bards. I also prefer to t5 spellsinger but be a stormsinger for some added dps oomph. Feydark gives perma shield which I love, hate spending all day clickying. If you can find room for the color spray SLA it's crazy good on a bard. Can also nab charisma to hit (damage if you want) for when something's almost dead and you don't want to waste sp on it, or for something like von pillars.

Thank you for the reply.

I am getting Nightshield from Shadowdancer (Cover of Darkness), so I have that covered.
What do you use for Epic Destinies?
Color Spray is indeed good but I didnt have the points for that because I wanted 41 + 31 in Spellsinger and Stormsinger.

That is occasionally an annoyance but Sonic is resisted by very few mobs so in practice I do not see it as a major issue.

Sonics great esp with the new ED now if it had stripping that ed would be a 10 out of 10

but the lightning and ice immunes can get annoying

Arti casters could make a come back warlcock pacts too lots of builds could benefit

I'm a runspeed junkie. But even I couldn't leave 3 Evocation DC lying on the floor when the character already has +20% runspeed and wings.

A fair point.

When we get another +1 ap tome I expect you can have both, somewhat, with 20 ap in Dragonborn and 6 ap in Falconry. Or drop Wings, but I love wings :)

Do you have a full setup for Spellsinger?

Nothing current. It levels great, but I was disappointed with it at level cap compared to other nuker options.

I certainly agree that it is not a top notch nuker at cap - but I like the combo of buffs, Mass Hold, some nuking and the heals-from-Shouts.

I am still not sure the new ED will be able to compete with Draconic at cap. That "Energy Burst does double damage" is hard to compete with. For low epic levels it would be really good though.

Tough one. I'd like to just go HAAM in Stormsinger and minor in Spellsinger, but feel the need to nab that Spellsinger Mass Hold and Heal for the sake of party. Will say the healing from Fatesinger Core 4 on Shout, Greater Shout on an endgame Stormsinger is bananas - powerful enough to heal folks while on platforms in the Skele raid.

I don't have the numbers handy, but I usually do spellsinger (t5 and cap), stormsinger, feydark (GCS) and Fatesinger (strike), exalted angel (mantle), draconic incarnation. CC, backup healer, buffs, and some DPS.

Heyas!

I also thought I would not be able to play without Mass Hold when I first started with Stormsinger, but ended up ditching it for the better DPS and quite frankly rarely if ever miss it by now.

I usually open fights with a combo of Soundburst (one of the most underrated CCs in the game in my view, rarely see people using it to effect) and BoGW and if by the end of the six seconds the group is not finished yet I just cast another soundburst for extra 6 seconds CC. And that's without counting the G shout stun. Both work on more stuff than Hold does and still have 100% uptime with the very short cool down - and with a higher DC than my Hold would have with the bonuses to Evocation. If I do need a longer duration CC situationally, I still have the single Hold Monster (when dealing with venges) and Hold Person for humanoids. If I need a second longish duration CC, or the mob saves against the Hold, there's Irresistible Dance. And since I usually solo at r8s, if needed and with preparation there's also the Dballs. Oh, and of course there's always Cut The Strings, as well. :)

I do miss Heal, but with my playstyle (soloing with FvS and Muse hires besides the others) I don't really need it much - I rarely ever get hit, and when I do the hires heal me quick enough.

So, all that said, my split is 42 Stormsinger, 31 Spellsinger, 8 Falconry and 16 H-Elf (I don't really miss Dragonborn's extra DCs and the call lightning storm SLA from the dragon mark adds some nice free extra DPS to the fold - not to mention how great it is for flavor - currently got 123 Evocation DC before the +3 reaper boost and rarely stuff saves even on r10s). Destiny wise, I go with 35 FS, 32 Primal, 6 Magus (with the Discipline feat taken at 18 for -95% threat reduction, -115% with Dark Diversion - this way even the hires can keep aggro away from me, and there's always Diplo for the odd times they don't).

No Draconic? Nope. I lose some burst DPS but with the hires added DPS from the Primal mantle, plus the fact they can efficiently tank and keep aggro on most high reaper content I find that the fact I rarely have to kite (so don't really miss wings either) and can focus entirely on nuking the mobs more than compensates for the slightly lower DPS on paper (every second spent looking away from mobs is a DPS loss). And there's also less worry about mana with Evergreen proccing all the time.

Then T5 Stormsinger gives me another great single target DPS option in Iceberg - in the end having Thunderstroke + Iceberg is almost like having Gruin+Ruin (less damage but also lower cooldowns).

And when I do end up in a group I find it still performs well enough with all the versatility with the CC and decent enough damage, and the heals from the shouts and occasional Cocoon/Cure criticals still do enough to keep melee toons topped of for most of the time when there's no dedicated healer.

Cheers,
NH

The +10 PRR is nice if you have the Epic Shield Clickie from Kind of a Big Deal. I usually stop at the +1 CHA and spell power core though. My main use for Color Spray is blinding the stupid Xorian eyeballs and Bards can get that with the level 1 spell.

I like 41 Spellsinger for raiding. Beyond Spellsong Vigor, you don't have the duration penalty for CC, you get some more enchantment DCs, and you add a mass instakill.

IMO, I think you would be better off with the mantle and evasion through Primal Avatar, and then 11 points into Draconic for Eschew and Elemental Blood. Also you'll get some extra elemental absorption and spell crit multiplier from PA. I would also pick up Tier 3 "Jack of All Trades" over "Tune the Weave". More intimidate for the tank and 3 more spell power for everyone in the party is better than some spell points.

For that I like to use Glittering Dust (or even go right to Sleet storm, for the proc boost), since you can preemptively cast it and don't have to worry about timing the spray just right nor worry about them spawning at different times from each other.

If you read my posts you have already lost
couple things: dragon breath, while good, is not as good as the fatesinger epic strike/spender (IMO) because its sonic and thus not resisted and it heals allies in area. could take both in case mobs have immunity or not, and the sonic one does a good amount of damage. also no macrotech? hammer spells there arent epic strikes and just SLAs so free damage and hp at basically no loss, and bard needs more spells in its rotation IMO. for me, I focus more on sonic because bard gets more sonic bonuses, so I would take sonic hammer/epic strike (fatesinger), but if u want electricity do the electric hammer and dragon breath (and maybe fatesinger epic strike for lightning immune mobs like kor kaza)

A note on a 41/31 AP Split vs Feydark. For this HC season, going 42/23/15 AP split (St/SS/FI). 13+ AP into FI bags +2 CHA (+1 DC for all spells), GCS, perma nightshield. Not going 31 AP into SS basically loses songs. GCS is just too good in my eyes to pass up for cc and extra damage. A cc version would be 41 AP into SS, 23 into St, rest into FI grabbing the extra spell pen.
