About 14 years in which I have actively played DDO with a few breaks in between. The breaks have been when something else grabbed my interest and I played it to death and then came back.

Hobgoblin

Less Nerfy Nerfy more fixy fixy
hob is sick and tired and not in a good mental state so game isn't distracting him like it used to

This poll clearly indicates that the forums are largely populated by people who have been here for a decade+.

Can't remember the module. I remember when monk class and Vaults of Artificers still had loading screen pages. I remember when vorpal worked differently. I remember dedicated healers. I remember the rings from ToD were cool because they can have holy burst added. I remember the OG Mabar event Eternity pseudo raid and the lag so bad that it was joked that the lag wasn't there, that D&D is a turn-based game. I remember Ruins of Threnal were ran. I remember The Titan Awakes was ran. I remember thinking it was cool being able to run on water as a Ninja Spy. I remember when before Vanguard was a tree all of the anti-dead things in KotC were in a separate enhancement line called Hunter of the Undead, and on the topic of enhancements I remember seeing one set bonus on the ToD rings being called "purple dragon knight" and was hyped because it was assumed that PDK was going to be an enhancement line. I have been using the term "enhancement line" because the trees did not exist; you would pick an enhancement and it would unlock others. I remember looking at them on the wiki and writing down what lead to what. I remember having so much fun in raid groups venturing through the sub-t in order to reach HoX and VoD. I remember thinking it was so cool that Delera's was DM'd by Gygax and that Threnal was DM'd by Arneson. Times were simpler.

I first started in 06. Joined a group and somebody invis ran Butchers Path and I thought this isn’t fun and didn’t check it out again until 09 when I saw a interview post of the guild of the week. It was Pavo talking about Mortal Voyage and how you get the D&D feel from playing Permadeath. Joined Mortal Voyage and haven’t looked back.

I see what you did there
Rolled my first toon when Harbinger of Madness was new, so Update 9. I've been playing at least weekly since 2011.

Started on release in Europe, so a couple of weeks behind the US.

Only started it as something to do while waiting for LOTRO. Far to much of a Tolkien fan to of passed that by.
Managed about 4 hours of LOTRO total. Hate it. DDO pretty much broke all others for me.

Freedom to create what I wanted, not just what was allowed. Chuck in the (at the time) fairly active play ie you could just dodge arrows etc nothing else has ever come close since.

Slightly concerned over the new 64bit servers, especially if they're over on the West Coast of the US. Will see what the latency is like when they spin it up next week.

Started since around September/October 2009 when I first heard it going F2P.

Played on an off since then.

As I´m playing now since 2007 I´m interessted how long are most of you active?

I done also a break between 2014 and 2020 (started during Corona again) so

2007-2014 = 7 Years
2020-2024 = 4 Years

Lets say more then 10 Years active gaming
I started in 2011 I think. I was looking for an alternative to NWN persistent servers and DDO was so similar to NWN I fell in love immidiatelly.
