How My Dark Apostate Gears Up With Loot Current To The New Raid

The final conclusion of this post is a critique on the desirability of the raid loot, I will design one theoretical piece of equipment that would settle the critique then I will repeat this assessment with an Artificer build!

Now, I am very particular about my gearing up decisions, in order of importance (Greatest to least) here are the rules:

1-Non-stacking item attribute effects are to be avoided.

2-Equipment effects relevant to how the character is meant to be played are prioritized, and unused attributes are to be avoided if possible

3-Maximization of effects gained from sets is a must

With these rules in mind, the Myth Drannor content offers no set bonus benefits for any rings, offhands, or weapons.
And so we turn to Isle of dread items for the set bonus present on the weapons, rings, and offhand.
Now, I am playing an Aasimar Scourge Melee Dark Apostate and using the divine crusader tree as my primary tree and the Macrotechnic tree as my secondary tree with just two points spent in the Draconic Incarnation tree.

Attuned Dinosaur Bone Bastard Sword (Shadowfang, Brighthorn, Iridescent claw force, Meltscale, Feareater, Essence Of Spear Of The Mournlands, Dreadbringer, Technomage)

Dinosaur Bone Runearm ( Gold Fang, Fragment Of Extraplanar Alignment, Spark Fang, Flamescale

Dinosaur Bone Ring: All the negative energy spell critical effects and Relentless Fury, Emerald Of Bitter Wounds, Golem's Heart, and Essence Of The Cloak Of Strahd

Legendary Signet Ring Of The Sky with spell penetration added to claw slot

Legendary Pendant Of The Sky with deadly slotted to fang slot

Now that the Isle of dread set is accounted for, we move onto declaring that the Trinket Slot is reserved for a Legendary Gem Of Many Facets while two other slots are reserved for the pieces needed to complete whatever set is chosen to accommodate the needs of the build, but we will get back to that after sorting through and playing gear tetris with what is available from the Myth Drannor content as the ability to have one set effect along side a 1/3 of a set effect added to each gear piece in a much customized way is great! Anyhow, this leaves me to select six pieces of gear from the Myth Drannor content!

Legendary Cuffs Of The Forbidden with Lunar Gem Of Negative Amplification

Legendary Greaves Of Season's Warding With Lunar Gem Of Magical Protection

Legendary Gloves Of The Resilient with Lunar Gem Of Swift Charging

Legendary Heavy Armor Of The Artblade with Solar Gem Of Negative Amplification

Legendary Helm Of Sun's Wrath with Solar fortification bypass installed

Legendary Cloak Of The Forrest's Blade with Solar Strikethrough gem installed

Set Augments used: 3X Touch Of Power, and 3X Quickblade

Okay now, this leaves just the Trinket, Goggles and Belt free! An assessment on what is lacking in the build leans towards more defense improvements, wisdom, and constitution. Luckily states are easy to cover with augments and one of the pieces being cannith craftable. I ended up choosing a pair of Necromancy themed goggles and a defense themed belt as the set bonuses evened the choice out quite well!

Legendary Spectacles Of Spirit Sight (Legendary Desert's Starless Nights)

Legendary Siren's Belt (Legendary Siren's Ward)

Legendary Gem Of Many Facets (Legendary Desert's Starless Nights and Legendary Siren's Ward sets) Constitution +14, Wisdom +14, and Insightful Wisdom +6

CONCLUSION: Absolutely no equipment from the new raid was even useful for this build!

Notable piece from raid: Brimstone, The Heart Of The Dracolich

Why Is It Notable?: Overwhelming Despair attribute

Solution to ensure appeal and encourage raiding for those who feel as I do on this matter: Allow people to craft An Emerald (Green) Augment with the overwhelming despair attribute using the Brimstone orb as an ingredient!

Item:
Emerald Of Overwhelming Despair
