I built a web based quest tracker

Hey everyone,

I’ve put together a free web-based DDO Quest Tracker you can use from any browser:

It’s inspired by Argavyon’s DDO Quest Tracker, rebuilt as a multi-character web app, favor planning, XP estimates, shared routes, and run timers. Quest data syncs daily from the DDO wiki.

What it does​

Track your progress

  • Multiple characters per account (progress saved in the cloud)
  • Click a quest to mark it complete — autosaves
  • Filter by level / Full XP band, Normal–Elite, Heroic–Legendary, packs, and patrons
  • Per-quest notes (shared across your characters)
  • Quest names link straight to the wiki
  • Character stats: quests done, time in quests, estimated XP, favor earned
Plan XP

  • Live XP estimates with your boosts: VoTM, VIP, ship shrine, elixirs, Heroic/Epic Tomes of Learning, weekend XP
  • Scorecard goals (Slayer / traps / breakables / secrets) with chips on quests that have those bonuses
  • Effective level shown for your chosen difficulty
Time your runs

  • Start a timer per quest (or use the toolbar timer)
  • Completing the quest auto-logs duration
  • Edit duration and finished time afterward
Favor & patrons

  • Dedicated Patrons page per character
  • Favor from completed quests (wiki rules: Normal base, up to ×3 on Elite)
  • Unlocked rewards vs what you still need for the next tier
  • Total Favor milestones (Warforged, Veteran, etc.)
Shared quest routes

  • Browse / publish ordered routes
  • Attach recommended boosts and scorecard goals
  • Open a route on a character and run it in order
  • Build a draft from the tracker with “+ Route”
Share & polish

  • Read-only share links for a character’s progress
  • Themes (Stormreach Night, Sharn Skyline, and more)
  • Sync log of daily wiki quest updates

Quick start​

  1. Register at https://ddotracker.zepsu.com
  2. Add a character
  3. Set level + boosts, then start ticking quests
Feedback welcome — especially missing quests, favor edge cases, or route ideas. Challenges aren't tracked yet.

Youve got some unique features in there.

The one feature that makes it great you dont have is what DDOAudit has...AUTOMATIC quest / raid completion and timer tracking...all with no input from the user once registered through the in game process. I used to keep them in a spreadsheet with tons of infomation but had to enter it all each time, like your system. And turns out...im the worst part of a tracking spreadsheet/system. Anyways i appluad the work just hope you can find a way to automate the data collection or else its DOA for me. One of my guildies has a rather extensive spreadsheet for such tracking everything...even he now uses DDOAudit because it never misses the data.

there is a tool called dungeon helper - I played with it a little and built myself an addon that tracks quests times but it is super unreliable. I'm hoping to expand on it and get it working enough to be a companion app for the ddo tracker that will automatically update your quest runs - but it's a ways off

Strangely been working on something similar (initially to feed my apex7) and finally figured capturing quest completion events with a view to building a local compendium tracking each difficulty rather than max. Sagas is next on the todo list

We've been using the tracker to track a play through where we do every quest in the game. It's working ok, but we always forget to start the timer, also I think I need a feature where you can define who was in your party and it would update their tracker too.

However it's correctly reporting patron rep, and we've managed to run all heroics that don't have epic/legendary (so we can do them when we get to epic levels)
The idea behind the routes system, was hopefully so people can plot routes for others to follow, but without automatic logging of time to complete it doesn't work great.

The more tools available to the players only helps the game and the players .... you definitely have some added features that look really good!

Could you add an XP penalty option for true reincarnations so that could be figured in as well? Looks pretty great! (y)

Would it be possible to look into using the API on DDOaudit to add the automatic timing or maybe even other automatic tracking features?

The next addition when I've figured out tracking quests times correctly is a tool for building, sharing, rating and discussing builds, including tracking your own past lives and filtering all the builds. So this might be the tool I use for people to download their character json to add to the builder - exactly what I'm looking for, or perhaps when it's ready I can provide you a link so people can export them straight from your tool to the website :)

People are welcome to develop it further than i already have, including yourself (I don't have the time myself right now, my actual job got a lot busier the past few weeks). I gave a copy to the creator of https://www.ddotracker.com/ who build his import tool to accept the Json

yes, I'm about 90% done with an automatic quest tracker that will speak to the website and track your quest times. It will also enable a routes leaderboard, to see who is fastest at clearing routes and add a friendly bit of competition for people that enjoy playing that way. You can already design and build routes, that you can repeat on your next lives and that are shared to a public pool for others to use. Always nice to have a path to follow when your on your 110th life, no thinking just monster smushing

yes I want to concentrate on proper xp tracking, at the moment it uses the wiki to work out how much base xp you get and only tracks that, I have however just created a tool for dungeon helper that auto tracks the quests.

Though still very much in beta I hit some DH limitations which I've had confirmation from Morrikan that they will be fixed with DH5

So at the moment the auto tracker will track completions and time automatically and do various things like add your characters
But it doesn't track xp/dungeon difficulty reaper xp. It's very much in beta.

As well as the automatic quest tracker (which is working rather well for me and my friend in our play sessions)
I have now added saga filtering, so you are able to filter to only show you quests in a saga, and you can track where you are up to within that saga.

Ok thanks for letting me know, I guess. Not sure what to do with this information? Without some sort of account you can't store your characters or see them easily. But thanks for your comment!

I'm surprised you registered on the DDO forums! You have weird values that are not consistent

Duergar needs to be added to you race list. Also, DDO audit has a way to add characters and verify them without having to add all the info manually. I would highly encourage you to see if their API could be incorporated into your project. There seems to be a lot of overlap.

the companion app will auto add characters you log in as if you are logged into the website, you don't have to add them manually - my instructions are outdated already haha.
thanks for the Duergar note.
my next update will hopefully be a character builder, that will hopefully be able to use the companion app to auto add your current build, so you can tr it and create share discuss builds
DDO Audit has a monitor online all the time that checks the who list, I just don't have them resources available to me.
