While I know someone this has happened to, (knock wood) it hasn't happened to me yet. So I am just concerned and know many are also concerned.
What i have read outside of here, the data breaches that happen seem more centered on getting you user ID, than cutting through hacking passwords like butter.
Both LOTRO and DDO are not able to apply 2 factor identification codes to. Other games Daybreak has can though. This issue is not isolated to DDO/LOTRO Daybreak.
I have not done a deep dive on a LOTRO valuation, but currently if DDO was to be spun off as an asset it's current valuation is 3 to 4 million, why I mentioned LOTRO is that these games are joined at the hip. It would be hard to decouple these assets because of how intertwined they are.
Why I metion valuation of DDO? How much is the DDO portion of Daybreak on the hook for if multiple people lost over $10k USD on a data breach?
