we got 11 iconic's now = 33 iconic past life so...

When?
How many more you need to add before?
Why not?

and yes this thread will apear every new iconic :)

Hi there, can you please give me your reasoning for wanting Iconic Completionist and also what you expect for a reward?

The reason i am asking this, is over the last fortnight i've been starting to run pugs again. About 80% of the time it's usually great and everyone is working as a team and having a laugh etc. Unfortunately 20% of the time i end up getting an OP TR toon in the group (don't get me wrong, i have had some amazing times with TR players). Who literally runs through the quest at light speed (im assuming there using a combination of speed boosts to move that fast) either killing most things (which isnt too bad) or leaving monsters behind and we end up getting DA. One of the quests i ended up getting surrounded by 10+ mobs and 2 reapers due to him aggroing the full dungeon while i was trailing in his wake (the other party members had given up and was staying the entrance waiting for completion). So i couldnt even finish out but had to kill all these mobs while everyone had finished out and moved on to the next quest in the chain (as you can imagine by the time i had killed them all and finished out and started the next part, i just got into the quest as he was finishing it. So i only just got completion).

I am still trying to work out, if it was reaper points that was making them soo OP or if it was Past lives. I didnt want to add to their ego and ask them, but they did have the legend title (but i suppose you cant work out anything by that). They were not running reaper wings. But again they may have decided just not to buy them on this life.

The reason i am saying this, is imagine these OP TR players with even more power. I think we need to be reducing the power creep again, rather than increasing it.

I know that content is in the middle of being made harder and harder, but if they adjust the difficulty to compensate for these OP TR toons, than us first lifers will really start struggling with the content (im an Altoholic, ive never TR'd a toon, and to be honest i dont really have any intention after witnessing these OP TR characters).

For the record.
That issue with zergers leaving mess for rest of party was also present in elder scrolls online. Which doesn't have PL power creep.

Only solution is to kick zerger, not tolerate their behavior.

Past life power creep is not guilty.
I've seen players with varely any PL's pull off that BS.

The problem is the zergers were in guilds i usually group with, so kicking them is not really an option. I have added them to my friends list, so next time they ask to join, ill just say the spaces are reserved for my guildies who will be arriving soon.

I really dont understand why Zergers join Pugs, when its completely clear they can complete the content on their own. Do you think its a case of they like to show off, as they have become bored with the game?

This will be shocking to you, but maybe people LIKE to play with other people even if they don't NEED to play with other people?

Also one mans zerger is the next mans flower sniffer.

Iconic completionist should have your veteran status apply when you TR and allow iconics to start at 20.

I would hardly call zerging off on your own, playing with other people. These zergers dont even talk either in chat or microphone. So the only reason i can think they like grouping with other people is to show off how brilliant they are. Thank you for your insight, but surely liking to play with other people would be staying with the group and attacking the content together or coming up with tactics how to deal with the next quest / area.

As i said it wasnt just me that got left behind but the full party, the others got fed up and just started waiting at the entrance for the completion and finishing out to the next quest. Maybe i was naive trying to run in his wake and enjoy the content. The last quest i ran before i dropped the group, i decided to admit defeat and wait at the quest entrance with the rest of the party while he completed the quest. i think over the full run i only ended up looting one of the end chests (i think it was the 4th quest, were i refused to finish out, until i looted).

It's a shame they do this, as im assuming these players are experienced and could really help the other players actually play the game. As the old saying goes "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime". I really dont think zergers are helping other players by doing this. If they want to play like this. They really shouldnt be joining pugs, when its clear we are not playing like this at all.

I'm assuming your one of these zergers. So why do you like playing with other people, when you dont socialize or interact with the other members of the party?

I like playing with people that push the content at the edge of the content, whether that's difficulty or speed.

So, if people stand around the entrance for 3 minutes, or hang around the end for 5 minutes, yeah, you'll consider me a zerger.

There are people that put my zerging to shame though, and I mostly break boxes / do opts / etc.

Unlike you, I don't come complain about it, I either play with whomever, or just politely drop group and go do my own thing.

edit: "coming up with tactics" lol. I definitely would leave a group that stands around planning for "tactics". Just play, learn the game.

Some people believe they are doing other players a favour by running the whole quest for them. I disagree. Well, with the caveat that: if the person being "carried" is okay with it, and is on the same page as the zerger, and vice versa- then it's cool. But as a default way of behaving? I don't think it's the case. It's certainly not my style.

There is another more...let's say, "self-serving" reason, for why people host groups, without acknowledging anyone that joins them. And that is because VIPs have a permanent XP bonus for each additional member in the party. I believe it is 1% per member. Of course, there are the buddy bonus weekends as well. It's important to state, however: not everyone that hosts groups during these times- or for these reasons- is like this. Some of them are actually very decent human beings.

As always- it's best to just take cues from whoever the party leader is, or from the LFM's description.

Even so- everyone has their preferences as to how they play. Saying "Thanks" and leaving the party upon quest completion is always a fine option, if you encounter people who you don't jive with :)
