Ideas for racial lives

Hi!
I am starting racial lives and looking for ideas on what to run for different races.
I like variety and prefer builds that match races, but also want some efficiency so that I can solo leveling quests as needed and contribute in legendary quests for rxp.
So - taking suggestions and would love to hear what others have enjoyed :)

One race done
Tiefling - Acolyte of the Skin, Fiend Warlock, Fire Sorcerer

14 races to go
Aasimar -
Dragonborn -
Drow -
Dwarf -
Eladrin -
Elf/Wood Elf -
Gnome -
Half-Elf -
Half-Orc -
Halfling -
Human -
Shifter -
Tabaxi -
Warforged -

I made a list with each stat (except Con) as a heading, as well as Warforged.

Under each I made a list of 6 or 8 options for builds.

Then I can roll each life to see what I play.

Next is HOrc and I rolled Pure Barb.

Its my 3rd HOrc life so after that I roll d8 for the next racial choice.

You know someone is walking in and saying inquisitive and walking out - have one more class life and then doing something similar, so will be good to see.

Highly biased by what I play, but:

Aasimar - Fire/light nuking Cleric, negative/necro Dark Apostate.
Dwarf - Blightcaster (currently doing my dwarf lives on this), Bearbarian.
Gnome - Necro pale master Wizard.
Warforged - Blaster Artificer caster, self-healing savant Sorcerer.

Nukers breeze through heroics and are pretty simple to build well compared to the intricate synergies of martial characters.

Gnome Arti is awesome and fast. Gnome Repeater is a smidge slow till you get the two aoes. It's pretty good though. Gnome Sorc... in fact... SOrc is pretty fast levelling for everything. Sorc Sorc SOrc and more Sorc.

While I get the allure of variety, keep in mind that also brings with the burden of gearing 14 different ways

You might want to just stick a few very strong Heroic leveling builds, maybe one melee one ranged one caster, and just rotate between those. Split the difference between variety and complexity. I really like Warlock/FvS, Wiz/Arti Inqui, and pure Paladin for Heroic leveling. Melee Druid, Monk, Blightcaster, Stormsinger are also popular Heroic options. You want solid AOE, decent self healing, and enough defense to go HAM in R1 without having to spam heals - or having to stop to heal, even worse. You also want a build that will peak early, so usually no serious multiclassing.

Race doesnt matter that much anyway unless you're specifically building around a racial ability, and have the RAP to unlock it without giving up some crucial class tree enhancement...which usually means race matters more after you do all your RTRing :D

Wizard is surprisingly good for a change of pace. Self heals, melee 1-11 and archmage 12-20 works great, and splits up the playstyle even within the life.

This is the way I did my racial lives.

I picked the +20 attribute and went with one of the classes that melded closest to it along with any synergies in the racial tree.
If it was a trainwreck I chose a different build, I heavily favored sorcs/clerics and inquis builds alcs before they got revamped/nerfed. 1/rog 19 Locks when I just wanted an easy life.

The ML 12 sticks from Lordsmarch are just the cats freaking meow for herioc casters.

I went mostly pure to knock out Epic Lives as well, I started and was too far invested in racials and got my heroic completionist after racial prior to it being autogranted.

if I had to start over it would be herioc first then racial.

As someone else mentioned, inventory management became the metagame inside the game. I have an alt for each expansion that I made an electric sorc and just chain lightening my way through 150 house K and Coin lord.

Asimar - Cleric FVS Monk
DB = Sorc warlock and sorc
Drow = Sorc Alc Alc
Dwarf - Pally Barb Xbow
Elf - falchion builds
gnome- alc wiz alc
Halfing sneak attack based inquis / rog
Helf - Sorcs and Death Cleric
Human - Cant rememeber but no clear winner
Shifter - Clerics
Tabaxi - Staff Rog and Sorcs
Tiefling - Sorcs and Fire Cleric
Warforged - artficer / WK wiz / and Sorc
Eladrin - sorc sorc inquis.

I haven’t done this kind of pointless grinding but I suggest you do a single, easy gearset that lasts from 5-19 with minor swaps for different classes—usually via weapons, or an abishai set combo.

It is possibly more valuable to take a solid build to cap, hit RxP, ER and use your sagas from the first run up, hit cap and ER (so 2 ERs and lots of RxP), then do racial.

Don’t forget iconics as an option for class + race.

On Mornynstar to keep everything simple for gear (and because I like it) I am running Sun Cleric for the races. Almost no one turns down a healer that will pay attention and heal the party, along with tons of buffs. Another is the Bard for helping the party.

I found it more efficient to stick to the same build(s) really. I have two gear sets for level 1/5/10/15 so keep the gear tetris to a minimum

I have a caster set that easily accomodates Warlock/ Fire Sorc or Wiz at a push but prefer Warlock and Fire Sorc

And a melee set that easily accomodate Paladin/ Fighter / Dragonsoul / Barbarian

Its not gona hit all the classes but the aim is to do the racials right without losing your mind :)

I suspect I will do a few melee lives then a few caster lives and once the longbow update happens (assuming they get it right) a few of those.

Id poke my eyes out running the same build over and over. Repeating the same thing for a tiny improvement each time seems insane to me.

With easily a dozen different, very solid builds I plan on trying as many as I can. Especially ones Ive never done (Blightcaster, Stormsinger, and a few others - mostly the new archetypes).

I did half of my racials as inquisitive and half as dragon lord. It can get boring but makes gearing easier.
Just goes to show the lack of balance we have thanks to all those calling for 'BALANCE'. One being a universal tree that anyone can get and the other being a Fighter.

I didn’t play them because they were so powerful. My first lives were crossbow and I had the gear and my first pls were ranger. Plus you can play almost any race as an inquisitive. But I realized I don’t like playing while running backwards and I wanted to try the new Dragonlord race. It’s a lot of fun and turns out I like melee.

Not everything is about OP builds.

You just made my point from your third sentence on. Thanks :)
