You only need a +1 Heart of Wood to get rid of the initial class level. When doing the LR, make sure you pick the new class you want at the initial character creation screen,
not the Iconic option, or you'll waste the HoW.
It's more complicated (and expensive!) if you want to swap between alignment-locked classes where the default class blocks access. E.g., making a Bladeforged barbarian or a Razorclaw monk. In that case what you need to do is:
- Level to 15 as an alignment-agnostic class: e.g., Bladeforged paladin 1 / fighter 14.
- Use a +1 HoW to get rid of the initial class to become e.g. BF fighter 15.
- Buy an alignment change to something compatible with your desired class, e.g., Lawful Good->Chaotic Neutral.
- Use a +15 HoW to swap to your destination class, e.g., BF barbarian 15.
