When the new servers open login and make a temp character. Form a guild with that character with the exact spelling of your current guild.OK, how exactly do you change a guild name? I can’t find it on the store.
Are you VIP? VIP can charter a guild for free, if not you then a guild member could set up the temp for you. Also a regular guild rename never cost money before it just required a ticket be put in to CS.Not sure which is cheaper and easier. 1) buying a spare guild charter to get a free name change or 2) paying to rename the existing guild
Create a guild on your destination server with the same name before transferring - or have any vip do it for you if you aren't vip. When you transfer it over you will get a free rename.Yea, just found that on a google search. VIP - submit ticket - wait unspecified amount of time. With the server merge on the horizon it's probably something I'll hold off on for now.
Interesting. All the “elite” raiding guilds seem to be firmly ensconced in Thrane and the casuals in Shadowdale.
Do I pick relaxing casual server or hardcore toxic server….
Hmmmm……![]()
How do you know it's casual guilds?Read the list on Shadowdale, it's casual guilds.
But I'm tempted, big fish in little pond syndrome.
Then again, it'll probably be twice as fast to gear grind on Thrane than in Shadowdale.
Choices. ... ..
I ran with most of these guys. How do you know it's casual guilds?
Thanks for that captain obvious. What if I told you I don't care? I for one haven't raided much in the last 5 years. Only in the last 6 months have started joining pugs and doing raids again. I have been perfectly content on running what ever the raid leader has put up LN LH. Don't care. Met some cool people.I ran with most of these guys.
I'm not going to name names but some of these guilds would fail a DoV on Hard and even sometimes on normal. Nothing against that, that's cool, and I stick with them until the end.
But it's definitely not say Surprised Pokemon.
And again, the only real big diff between an elite raiding guild vs. a non is just build and gear (which is like 80% of it). The raid "tactics" in this game is like "does the round block go in the round hole or square hole" levels of asinine simplicity.
Almost all the raids in this game revolve around one thing and one thing only, DPS, DPS, DPS. Pretty much can solve all raids up to and including R1's even if you have no idea what's going on.

I personally have no desire to raid past R1. It's just not my thing and I don't care.
Then your decision is a simple one:

Well it is demonstrably better and more fleshed out than Greyhawk.Would have prefered Oerik. But you know for some reason people think Ed Greenwood created D&D.............
Well apple's to black berry's.Well it is demonstrably better and more fleshed out than Greyhawk.
I liken the two differences to Nokia’s BlackBerry(Greyhawk) vs. Apple’s iPhone(FR).
There are of course even better worlds; Mystara.
I really think Arneson invented D&D, he just wasn’t as good a marketer and businessman.Well apple's to black berry's.
I liked it more for the homage to Gygax than anything. Debating which campaign setting are better are irrelevant.
You comment on a lot of stuff you have no cule about. Many of the so called ubber guilds are going to multiple servers. There been a lot of confusion on what guilds are going where cause of this. Nobody really knows for sure. But to blanket label this that is wrong . The truth is people are mainly going to where the people they mostly run with are going.Read the list on Shadowdale, it's casual guilds.

I wasn't there. Gygax and Perren had Chainmail and Arneson had his Blackmoor. Arneson used Chainmail for combat. Sounds like a Reeses peanut buttercup. Both ingredients good on their own. Together magic. Now Blackmoor would be the dopest server name.I really think Arneson invented D&D, he just wasn’t as good a marketer and businessman.
