I'm in "Price of Freedom" Epic and Cannot Find 1st Dimensional Anchor

I have already killed the boss in the lava pit and destroyed the "2nd" Anchor that is there with him.

I am currently in the NE corner room, 2nd level of map II (the part with 3 levels of locked cell doors)

Using the Wand shows me that the Anchor is "Right Here" in this room with me.

I have been up and down and all over this room getting Very Close msg from the wand finally got the Right Here msg but the Anchor is not here.

I consulted the Wiki and "Right Here" where I am at is supposedly one of the locations.

Could it have spawned in a wall or ceiling?

This quest can be a bit frustrating. And even go totally sideways sometimes. 😣

At first, I used to avoid it altogether. But these days, I actually really enjoy it. There's no other quest quite like it. That makes it awesome, in my book :)

Why not ultra intuitive, try to use the wand against anything and check messages on the plates. Somtimes there thing like "Way way way too far" and then "way too far" that didn't help a lot but at least is better than "no anchor found" with purple colour". Comparisons works great

Anchor got fixed places but are pretty random

Thats why I generally skip that quest, and any quest with similar randomized "find the thing" mechanics that isnt otherwise required, e.g. for a Saga

Quests that arent the same thing every time are very good in theory...but when the difference just means running around to check all the spawn points, something that takes zero skill other than knowing where the spawn points are, then that's just a time sink. You cant make that go any faster by skillful play, its just pure luck.

Randomness and unpredictability can also add value and replayability. It doesn't necessarily have to have a skill component to it.

Having said that- if you've seen me use the Wand of Greater Exploits- you might rethink whether skill is a factor in completing the quest efficiently, because...

Well, I feel the need to apologize to all the people I've sent a bouncing :p

A Sidenote: This was the first time I ever bothered finding and escorting all the prisoners.

I had a very reluctant conga line going.

I also had one HELLUVA time getting out of the boss lava room. Since I cleared that boss and anchor first, I did not get a ddoor out to ship.

I tried using the wand to bounce back up the shaft, but it was gated off.

I read that if you die in the lava you get ported to a shrine just outside the room.

I have the 3rd core of Fury of the Wild giving me +350 Unconscious range. My health would tick down but I would stabilize before the lava could kill me.

I had to take off all gear except my Constitution ring. Then take it off when I got close to 20-30ish hp in order to let the lava work.

LMAO
