I'm ready for Twitch drops

Many games have implemented systems that reward viewers with in-game items or currency for watching streams, and it would certainly be exciting to see something similar for DDO. A 24-48 hour VIP access could definitely enhance the viewing experience while providing players with some neat perks. Additionally, offering point codes or free gold rolls as rewards for watching streams could encourage more engagement and community participation.

It is a game I don't own or am curious about. If a game sucks I am glad I didn't plunk down 70$ for it. That's why streams.

I've never understood why streaming a game has any viewers at all. If any of y'all watch game streams, feel free to express why. I'm curious.

I have watched game play for games that I know I don't have the mindset for. Rust, DayZ, Etc. Losing everything and starting over in your underwear just isn't a game for me, but I like watching the good ones. Frankie, for one.

twitch drops are junk anyway so why bother, would rather see the game have good stuff happen to it like feedback on lammania being listened to when its needed (not just when it's convenient), MD loot fixes, rare loot transparency, free to play actually being free to play (not free to cry), every new raid not being anti-raider with the loot mechanics, etc etc etc

Well, why do people watch others play football ? For me it´s the same.
I like to watch how others maybe play in a different way, or hear their thoughts on certain aspects of the games. Some streamers are simply funny or entertaining to watch.
Depending on the game, you can also learn mechanics, tactics, etc.
Or it can simply give you a good impression if it´s a game you might be interested to buy.

When I watch streams, it's not for the game that's being played, but who is playing it.

I don't want to watch any random game being streamed, I want to watch my favourite streamers play a game, if that makes sense?

The FACT that games have implemented what the OP states means that it is doing something that positively aids their economic model—I have no idea what it is, but it must be doing something or they would not bother.

So take note SSG.

I think this would be a great way to get new players to try the game.

You watch the majority of the livestream and get rewarded a free 72 hour VIP pass to try out the game.

why not? If the argument is about dev resources, this is what community managers do (I presume). So not detracting from the overworked code folks who probably have not fixed my legendary spell damage sun augment…

I know folks are being snarky about rewards but a reward might be a guest pass to the content being streamed.

They should definitely give freebies during Fridays at 4 to make it a staple where people are keen to come and interact even if just for the goodies to spread information and "state of the game" beyond rumourmills and grapevines.
