I'm unable to start the game, Launcher is stuck at installing MSV C++ 2005, is there any way of skipping it or installing it manually? I'm using steam, linux version.
I ran into this with Windows 8.1 with Steam. I can't remember exactly how I fixed it, but I do know it required a system restart, opening Steam in admin mode, and allowing the game to modify the registry. I'm not sure how much of that applies to Linux, but my two suggestions are to talk to the tech support team, and to search for answers on reddit. Between those sources, there should be a solution.

I found the solution, I had to froce Proton compatibility to version 7.0.6 and its working now. Must say a lot has changed since i played this game last time in 2010
